STEVENS POINT - The UW-Stout baseball team dropped a pair fo WIAC games to No. 23 UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon. Falling 14-4 in the first game and 6-5 in game two.
GAME 1
A eight-run eighth inning lifted the Pointers to a 10-run win in game one. Stout was down 6-1 heading into the top of the eighth.
Levi Wilson drove in a run with an infield single and
Parker Hagebock followed with a two run single to left. to cut the lead to 6-3. The first ten batters reached in teh bottom half of the inning before Stout was able to record an out. UWSP scored eight runs on six hits and three walks.
Riley Boushack went 2-3 with a walk to the lead Stout offensively.
Justin Sedin went 1-4 with a home run.
GAME 2
A walk-off two0run double in the bottom of the ninth lifted UWSP to a 6-5 win in game two. Leyton Bowers worked a bases loaded walk to put Stout on the board first in the top of the first. UWSP hit a three-run home run in the bottom fo the third to take a 3-1 lead. and added one more in the fourth. Stout tied the game in teh top of the sixth. Bowers hit a two-run bomb to cut the lead to 4-3 and
Colin Hageman followed with a solo jack to tie the game.
Justin Sedin hit a solo shot in the top of the ninth to give Stout the lead heading into the bottom of the ninth. But the Pointers scored two on the walk off double to sweep the double header. Sedin was 2-3 with a walk. and Bowers had three RBI.
Tucker Beving struck out four and gave up three hits and five walks in six ininngs pitched.
UP NEXT
The Blue Devils will close out their four game series with the Pointers with a doubleheader tomorrow, Sunday, April 23. The games are set for 12 and 3 p.m.
