MENOMONIE - The UW-Stout Blue Devil Baseball (11-7, 4-6) team split a doubleheader with No. 20 UW-Oshkosh (16-6, 7-3) Friday afternoon at Wakanda Park. Falling 15-4 in seven innings in game won and winning 10-8 in game two.
GAME 1
Stout struck first with in the bottom of the first inning when
Jacoby Endreas crushed a three-run home run to right center field.But the Titans would respond by scoring two or more runs in five straight innings to take a 15-4 lead and take the game in seven innings. Stout committed five errors in the loss. Endreas,
Colin Hageman and
Justin Sedin each had two hits for Stout.
GAME 2
Stout hit three home runs and Jack Schripke went 4-4 in a 10-8 win in game two. After giving uo a run in the top of the first,
Parker Hagebock hit his first of two doubles and
Justin Sedin followed with a 2-run homerun to give Stout the lead that they would hold throughout.
Connor Hemme stole home in the bottom of the second and Hagebock hit his second double to make the score 4-1 after two.UWO added two runs in the top of third cut the lead to 4-3. Hagebrock led off the bottom of the fourth with a home run and two batter later Endreas hit his second of the afternoon to give Stout a6-3 lead.
Justin Schnell drove in two with a double to give the Blue Devils a 8-3 lead after four. Leyton Bowers hit a RBI single in the sixth and Schnell hit a sac fly to extend the lead to 10-3 after six. Oshkosh made things interesting in the eighth by scoring five runs on six hits to cut the lead to 10-8. Nathon Weckop came in and worked a scoreless ninth to pick up the save. Hagebock went 3-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Bowers and Hageman each had two hits and
Tucker Beving pitched six innings striking out five and allowing four hits. to pick up his third win of the year.
