The Blue Devils battled the Cobbers of Concordia Moorhead, but fell just short in a 75-71 loss Saturday afternoon. The teams traded buckets for the first several minutes, before the Cobbers jumped out to a nine point lead midway through the first half. Stout trimmed the lead to two but trailed by 13 at the half. They extended the lead to 17 just two minutes into the second half. Stout dug in and went to work, cutting the lead to nine with 16:33 to play. Concordia would maintain a 10 point advantage for the next several minutes before Stout cut the lead to ne at 51-52 with 7:43 to play. The Cobbers immediately pushed the lead back up tot seven only to see Stout tie the game at 60 with 4:17 to play. But the Cobber wer able to respond and build a eight point advantage again with 1:23 to play. Stout was able to get within three,but had to foul t extend the game and was unable to attempt a potential game-tying shot.Â
