St. Thomas Tom Cat Invitational
ST. PAUL, Minn. (April 13, 2022) - Several of the UW-Stout throwers from the Blue Devil track and field team braved the elements Wednesday night and competed at the University of St. Thomas Tom Cat Invitational.
The Blue Devils captured first in the shot put in both the men's and the women's competition. Approximately half of the competitors at the meet were from NCAA Division I schools.
Kevin Ruechel won the men's shot put with a toss of 54-feet, 11.25-inches.
Mackenzie Huber took the women's shot put crown with a toss of 44-5.50.
Logan Garski was sixth in the men's shot put (45-9.75), followed by Blue Devils
Karter Rashke (13th, 39-8.75),
Derek Millard (14th, 39-6) and Anthony Kuehl (16th, 35-10.50). Ruechel was also sixth in the discus with a mark of 146-6.
Nate Karau was eighth in the discus (141-5).
Jacob Bugella placed fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 182-0, and was the top Division III performer in the event. Garski placed 12th (150-10).
On the women's side,
Demi Ploor was fifth in the hammer throw (153-9) and sixth in the shot put (39-5.25). Huber was 12th (139-1) in the hammer throw and
Payton Schneider was 14th (131-10).
No team scores were kept. Stout will be at the UW-Platteville Invitational April 14-15.
