Blue Devil Overwatch bows out of OWCC tournament play

MENOMONIE (March 12, 2022) - UW-Stout's Overwatch team bowed out of the Overwatch Collegiate Championship series with a pair of losses last weekend. The Blue Devils lost to the University of California-Santa Cruz and the University of Hawaii.

The Blue Devils were able to utilize their entire roster over the weekend. 

Noah Braun (username: DrIllinformed) and Logan Frischmann (MasterBubble) played main tank based on map, Reed Theship-Rosales (Cheddar) as off tank, Ben Tierman (Bentup) as Hitscan DPS, Nick Riley (MrRickles) as Flex DPS, Melissa Neumaier (MarvelousMel) as main support and Spencer Clark (Turbanator) as Flex support.

"Both of these matches were incredibly close," said Overwatch coach Tobey Riedman.

The Blue Devils fell to 4-4 in the series and the a 5-3 or greater record is required to advance in the tournament.

Stout is still alive in NACE play and will return to action Monday, March 21 against UMN. That match will determine if Stout advances in NACE play.
