Blue Devils venture to an away meet for the first time this season, travel to UW-River Falls Winter Classic

RIVER FALLS (February 5, 2022) - Noah Beck won his second consecutive 60-hurdles competition when he set a personal-best in the event as UW-Stout competed in their first away meet of the season, at the UW-River Falls Winter Classic Saturday.

Beck finished fourth in the preliminaries of the 60-hurdles to three of his Blue Devil teammates, then turned on the jets in a time of 8.58-seconds, beating a time 8.59 he set last week at the Warren Bowlus Open. Teammate Hayden Wagner was third (8.63) and Kaden Martin was fourth (8.67). Wagner and Martin both set collegiate-best times.

The Blue Devil sprint team of Brent Heilman (7.10),  Mackenson Steinberg (7.21), Hayden Wagner (7.24), Bobby Vang (7.32), Daniel Nesja 7.35 and Carter Wente (7.42) finished second through seventh in the 60-meter dash. 

Owne Jelinek was second in the 400-meter (51.55) and Caleb Green was sixth (52.58). 

MIchael Volz finished fourth in the pole vault (13-feet,10-inches), which was won by UW-Stout alumnus Noah Zastrow (17-0), who was competing unattached. Jacob Tomazevic was sixth (12-10.25). 

Jonathan Loera placed second in the triple jump (40-6). Bobby Vang was third in the long jump (20-10), with Jakes Asembo fourth (20-7.25), Mason Barth sixth (20-1) and Amareon Allen eighth (19-9.75). 

Anthony Kuehl was sixth in the shot put (41-10.50). Connor Walechka was sixth in the weight throw (49-9.75). 

Kevin Ruechel and Jacob Bugella competed at the University of Minnesota Gopher Classic today. Ruechel was second in the shot put (56-3.75) and Bugella was fourth in the weight throw (59-9.75). Only unattached throwers placed in front of Ruechel and Bugella.

Stout returns to Menomonie to host a home meet for the final time this season when they host the UW-Stout Quadrangular, Friday, Feb. 11 at 4 p.m.
