WMG Humanitarian Award
MENOMONIE (May 13, 2021) - UW-Stout's
Liz Oswald (Sr, Watertown, Wis) is the recipient of the 2021 WMG Humanitarian Award, an award sponsored by the Waznik Moseler Group, that calls attention to and recognizes the student-athletes who put sports into proper perspective, who encompass teamwork, campus and community in their everyday lives and put others ahead of themselves.
The award has been presented annually since 2012 by WMG Waznik, Moseler Group of Menomonie.
Oswald, a member of the Blue Devil women's basketball team, is an applied science major with a grade point average of 3.72, and is a UW-Stout Scholar-Athlete.
Oswald has been heavily involved in both the UW-Stout and Menomonie area communities.
A two-time captain for the Blue Devil women's basketball team, has been UW-Stout's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) president, has been a volunteer at Mayo Clinic and with the Menomonie Boys and Girls Club.
Oswald was a member of the hiring committee for the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) commissioner last spring, is a member of the Chancellor's Intercollegiate Athletics Advisory Committee (CIAAC) and a member of the UW-Stout Pre-Health Society. Oswald presented at the STEM Expo in the spring of 2019, has been a member of the Dean's List every semester, and has been selected to the WIAC Women's Basketball Sportsmanship Team. She has played in every game since joining the team as a freshman.
Oswald plans to attend Eastern Illinois University to pursue her masters degree and a career in coaching.

"We acknowledge student-athletes with charcter, who care and believe in helping others and who work hard at making our world a better place."
"By placing a spotlight on these individuals," Jon Storing, a financial advisor from WMG Waznik, Moseler Group, said, "we are not only acknowledging their accomplishments, but we strive to magnify their ability to inspire everyone in this room, our youth and the community as a whole."
Also nominated for the award was Brady Booth of the men's basketball team.
WMG Waznik Moseler Group, LLC is an independent financial services firm that specializes in wealth accumulation, conservation, and distribution strategies. The firm was founded in 2004 in Menomonie, Wisconsin with the vision of improving people's lives by offering great financial advice at a fair price.
