Box Score UW-Stout 76, UW-Platteville 70 (OT)
PLATTEVILLE (February 8, 2020) -
Shannan Watkins scored a layup with three seconds left to send the game into overtime and the UW-Stout outscored the UW-Platteville 13-7 in the overtime period to take a 76-70 conference win over the Pioneers Saturday.
The game was tight throughout the game, with the scored tied 18 times, including a 29-29 halftime score and ar 63-63 at the end of regulation.
The Blue Devils (14-7, 5-5 WIAC) outscored the Pioneers (11-10, 3-7 WIAC) 13-7 in overtime, spurred on by
Katie Christopherson's six points in the extra time, all on free throws.
Amber Fabeck hit a 3-pointer to open the period, and Watkins and
Lindsey Johnson each scored a basket to lead a 7-0 run out of the gates.
Watkins finished with a team-high 17 points. Fabeck had 16 points and Christopherson scored 10 points. The Blue Devil bench scored 30 points.
The Pioneers' Kaylee Meyers scored a game-high 18 points. Maiah Domask scored 16 points and pulled down 13 rebounds.
The Blue Devils will host UW-La Crosse, Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. and UW-Oshkosh, Saturday, Feb. 15 at 3 p.m.
