Big Dawg Invitational results
STEVENS POINT (February 8, 2020) - With the UW-Stout school record holder in the pole vault in attendance, the Blue Devils'
Noah Zastrow set a new mark in the event Saturday at the Big Dawg Invitational at UW-Stevens Point.
Zastrow cleared 17-feet, 3-inches at Stevens Point after narrowly missing the mark at Stout's first two meets of the season. Zastrow beat the mark of 17-2.75 set by Daniel Drewek in 2010. Zastrow won the event by more than 18 inches.
Kevin Ruechel won the shot put with a personal-best mark of 56-11.25, besting his competition by just over two feet. Ruechel also set a personal-best in placing fifth in the weight throw (52-2).
Freshman
Simon Lual was second in the triple jump (44-10.75),
Isaac Lee was fourth (44-1.25) and Daniel Nejsa was 10th (40-10.50).
In the running events,
Owen Jelinek was fourth in the 400m (52.12) and
Keegan Pulchinski was ninth (53.90). In the the 3000m,
Bryan Cook was 10th (9:49.62). In the 60m hurdles,
Hayden Wagner was fifth (8.86) and
Noah Beck sixth (8.97).
In the jumps,
Mason Barth was ninth in the high jump (5-9.25). In the weights,
Max Johnson was ninth in the shot put (48-2.75).
As a team, Stout placed fifth of eight teams.
The Blue Devils will be at the St. Thomas Showcase, Friday, Feb. 14.
