2020 Warren Bowlus Open
MENOMONIE (February 1, 2020) - Junior
Brent Heilman garnered two first place finishes at the Warren Bowlus Open Saturday at the UW-Stout Sports and Fitness Center.Â
Heilman took first in the 60m with a career-best time of 6.98 seconds, a mark that would be fifth on the UW-Stout all-time list. Heilman captured the 200m in 22.52.
Parker Rongstad was first in the 60-hurdles (8.43).
Noah Zastrow and
Jack Kolar were first and second in the pole vault, with Zastrow clearing 16-feet, 8.75-inches and Kolar a career-best 14-9. Zastrow narrowly missed a school record jump of 17-3, just clipping the bar as he came down.

Kevin Ruechel was first in the shot put (55-0),
Alec Benzinger was third (51-3) and
Max Johnson was fifth (49-5).
Cody Lohrenz finished sixth in the 200m (23.17) and Owen Jelink was third in the 400m (52.01).
Henry Hughes (1:58.76) and
Trevin Nelson (1:58.88) were fourth and fifth in the 800m. Mike Fifield was fourth in the 3000-meter (8:47.77)
Hayden Wagner was third in the 60-hurdles (8.73 and
Carter Wente was seventh (9.40). The 4x400-meter relay team of
Noah Beck,
Brandon Haag,
Drake Biolo and
Ray Fasen finished third (3:44.67).
Jacob Tomazevic was fifth in the pole vault (13-9.25),
Shawn Waalen was seventh (12-9.50),
Jacob Backes eighth (12-9.50) and
Alec Varani ninth (12-3.50).
Bobby Vang was third in the long jump (20-11.75), Daniel Nejsa fifth (20-3),
Isaac Lee seventh (19-9) and
Nathan Skroch eighth (19-1.50). Lee was second in the triple jump (43-7.75) and Nejsa was third (43-1).
Benzinger was fifth in the weight throw (50-8.75) and Ruechel was seventh (49-1.75).
Alex Grulkowski (4129 pts) was seventh in the heptathlon and
Mason Barth (4075) was ninth.Â
The Blue Devils will be at the UW-Stevens Point Open, Saturday, Feb. 8 at 10:30 a.m.
