2017-18 All-WIAC Women's Basketball Team
MENOMONIE (February 27, 2018) - UW-Stout's leading scorers were selected to the 2017-18 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women's Basketball team.
Kyncaide Diedrich moved up from the honorable mention squad last season to be named first team All-WIAC this season and was also selected to the all-defensive team.
Bailey Diersen was selected to the honorable mention squad for the first time. Either Diedrich or Diersen led the team in scoring in 20 of 25 games this season.
Diedrich finished the season as the conference leader in scoring, averaging 15.9 points per contest. In 24 games played, Diedrich scored in double-digits in 19 games and scored 20 or more points in eight games. She scored a career-high 34 points against UW-River Falls in January. Diedrich finished the season shooting 137-of-353 (.388) from the floor, 33-of-118 (.380) and 75-of-107 from the line. Diedrich the Blue Devils in rebounds, averaging 6.6 rebounds, ranking fourth in the WIAC.
Diedrich appears in the WIAC top 15 in eight categories - scoring (1st, 15.9), assists (2nd, 3.08), steals (3rd, 2.21), rebounds (4th, 6.6), minutes played (29.2, 5th), 3-pointers made (9th, 1.38), 3-point percentage (12th, .280), and free throw percentage (13th, .701).
Diersen was second on the team in scoring and fourth in the WIAC, averaging 15.2 points per contest. Diersen scored in double-digits in 21 games and five times scored 20 points or more, scoring a career-best 27 points in the season-opener. Diersen shot 130-of-331 from the floor (.393), 27of-94 from 3-point range (.287) and 92-of-112 from the line (.697). Only one player in the league had more free throws made and more free throws attempted.
Diersen appears in the WIAC top 15 in six categories - scoring (4th, 15.2), steals (2nd, 2.44), minutes played (12th, 27.4), 3-pointers made (11th, 1.08), 3-point percentage (10th, .287), and free throw percentage (14th, .697).
Anna Brown was selected to the All-Sportsmanship team for the second consecutive season.
