A LOOK AT UW-STOUT:
- While the Blue Devils saw their winning streak stop at 10 games at Superior Sunday, they are still off to one of the best starts in school history. The 1995-96 team season opened the year at 9-0. Stout's best record to start the season was 13-0 to open the 1992-93 season. The 10 game winning streak also matched a mid-season 10-game winning streak during the 2005-06 season.
- Bailey Diersen leads the Blue Devils in scoring with an 18.8 per game average and is second in the WIAC. Diersen has scored in double digits in eight of the 10 games she has played this year. The senior guard leads the team and the WIAC in steals with 34, swiping 10 against Martin Luther College, one short of the 20-year-old school record of 11, notching her first double-double (19 pts, 10 steals) of the season. Diersen is averaging 3.5 steals per game.
- Amber Fabeck has turned her game up a couple of notches this season. The 6-3 post player poured in a career-best 22 points against St. Catherine, then repeated that feat in a comeback win over Ripon College. Fabeck collected her first career double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds against Albion College. Fabeck is averaging 13.6 points and 5.8 rebounds.
- Kyncaide Diedrich is currently averaging 14.7 points per contest, second on the team and fourth in the WIAC. Diedrich has had two double-doubles this season, both with 19 points and 10 rebounds, against St. Olaf College and Berea College. Diedrich was named the MVP at the North Park University tournament, tossing in 21 points in a win over Albion College, then 19 points against Berea College. Diedrich was selected as the UW-Stout/Toppers Athlete of the Week, as the WIAC Athlete of the Week and to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week. She is second in the league in assists, averaging 4.08. She leads the team in rebounds with 6.6.
- Diersen and Diedrich both surpassed 1000 career points in the game vs UW-Superior. Diedrich now has 1032 career points and Diersen has 1028. Diedrich became the 11th Blue Devil women's basketball player to break 1000 career points and is currently ninth on the all-time list. Diersen became the 12th player to reach the milestone and is currently ranked 10th.
- Shannan Watkins has returned to the floor after missing more than a season and a half due to injury. The guard from Hoover, Ala., missed one game this season, but bounced back to score a season-high 12 points against Crown. Watkins is averaging 7.5 points and 2.2 rebounds. Watkins scored 11 points in the season-opener and has scored in double digits the last three games.
- Diersen (28), Diedrich (23), Fabeck (18) and Watkins (11) scored all 80 points in Stout's first loss of the season at UW-Superior, Dec. 30. The 86-80 loss to Superior marked the second-most points the Blue Devils have scored this season (83 va. Crown) and by far the most points they have fivwn up. The previous number of pints given up was 66 points the previous outing to St.Scholastica (W 78-66).
- Liz Oswald has started all 12 games at point guard and broke out for a career-best 22 points against Crown. Oswald's previous career scoring high was nine points, a mark she hit earlier this season against Hamline University. This season, she is averaging 6.0 points and a team-high 33.9 minutes played.
- Carolyn Feddema has started all 12 games this season and is averaging 4.4 rebounds per contest. Feddema started 19 games during her sophomore season.
- As a team, the Blue Devils are averaging 70.2 points, second in the WIAC, and giving up 55.4, third in the WIAC.
- Bailey Diersen had 10 steals against Martin Luther, one short of Heather Peterson's 1999 school record of 11. Stout has nearly doubled up their opponents in steals, nabbing 143 to their opponents' 78.

THE COACHES:
UW-STOUT:
- Hannah Iverson (11-1) is in her first year as the head coach of the Blue Devils.
- Prior to becoming the Blue Devils' head coach, Iverson was the director of player development for women's basketball at NCAA Division I UW-Green Bay, a position she began in October, 2016. As well as working directly with the team, Iverson managed the program's operating budget, coordinated team travel, co-directed summer camps and clinics and handled all aspects of team film. She assisted in the set-up of on-campus recruiting and coordinating official and unofficial visits for potential recruits. Iverson held a similar position - director of basketball operations - at the University of Illinois from 2014-16.
- Iverson spent two years at NAIA member Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa, as an assistant women's basketball coach for the 2012-14 school years. Iverson was in charge of guard development in a season where she helped the Saints to the 2014 Association of Independent Institutions tournament championship, earning Ashford a berth in the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Championship tournament, the first conference title and appearance in the NAIA D-II tournament in Saints history.
- A member of the UW-Green Bay women's basketball team from 2008-12, playing as Hannah Quilling, Iverson finished her career in the top 10 for games played as the Phoenix posted a 122-13 record over her four years. The team was 68-4 in Horizon League play and advanced to the NCAA Division I tournament four times, including one trip to the Sweet 16. - Brad Fischer (150-34) restored the UW-Oshkosh women's basketball winning tradition in short order. In June 2012, Fischer inherited a program that had won 11 WIAC championships and one national title, but had no winning seasons and a 52-99 record from 2007-12. Fischer, who owns a 139-33 record in his six years at UW-Oshkosh, has guided the Titans to the NCAA Division III Championship four of the past five seasons. Under Fischer's guidance UW-Oshkosh was one of eight Division III women's programs to win at least one game at each of the four NCAA postseasons between 2014-17 as the Titans reached the third round in 2014 and 2017 and advanced to the second round in 2015 and 2016. Fischer earned 2014 Central Region Coach of the Year honors from D3hoops.com as well as WIAC Coach of the Year plaudits in 2013 and 2017. Fischer helped UW-Oshkosh win the 2017 WIAC regular season title in addition to three consecutive league tournament championships from 2014-16.
