A LOOK AT UW-STOUT:
- Kyncaide Diedrich, Jenna Goldsmith, and Bailey Diersen are all averaging more than 10 points per contest. Diedrich leads the Blue Devils with 13.8 points, followed by Goldsmith with 13.4 points and Diersen with 11.5. Both Goldsmith and Diedrich have scored in double digits in all 11 conference games.
- Â Goldsmith leads the team in rebounds with 7.0, followed by Diedrich with 6.2.
- Goldsmith is third in blocked shots (1.7) in the WIAC.Â
- Diedrich is first in the league in assists, averaging 3.7.Â
- Bailey Diersen has dished off at lead four assists in the last three games
- Following the Feb. 8 game with UW-River Falls, Jenna Goldsmith has 961 career points.

GOING OUT IN STYLE:
- Jenna Goldsmith has certainly taken the "play like this is your last year" mantra to heart. The Blue Devil senior has been crushing it during the conference season, scoring in double figures in every conference game and posting a conference-only scoring average of 16.0 points, almost three points over her season average of 13.4 points.
- Goldsmith currently has 961 career points with three games left, ranking 12th on the all-time list. Goldsmith currently has 554 career rebounds, tied for eighth with Katelynn Folkers on the all-time list. She has 154 career blocked shots, ranking second on the all-time list.
- Against the Falcons, Goldsmith scored 15 points, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked a shot. She dropped in 23 points in a 20 point win over UW-Whitewater last week.
- Stout's starters have also seen an increase in their minutes since the conference schedule started.
CONFERENCE STANDINGS:
- The Blue Devils are projected to finish sixth in the WIAC. Last season, the Blue Devils were the highest scoring offense in the WIAC, averaging 69.4 points per game. They also were second in the WIAC in rebounds per game, with 41.2 per game.
STOUT LAST TIME OUT:
- The Blue Devils lost to UW-Eau Claire, Feb. 1, then turned that around with a 70-50 win over UW-Whitewater, Feb. 4, holding the Warhawks to about 20 percent shooting from the field.

SCOUTING UW-RIVER FALLS
- River Falls' only WIAC win of the season came against Stout a few weeks back. Since then, the Falcons have lost four straight.
- Taylor Karge has scored 19 points or more on five different occasions this season.

FALCONS LAST TIME OUT
- UW-River Falls women's basketball team traveled to face No. 16 UW-Oshkosh and couldn't come home with the upset in a 73-53 loss.
- Early in the game the Falcons kept pace with the conference leading Titans, but a 21-10 second quarter put the Falcons in a hole that they could not dig out of.

- Stout fell at home against River Falls back in January, 70-68.
- Stout put on one of the biggest comebacks in school history, coming back from 24 points down, but were unable to pull off the win in the final seconds.

SCOUTING UW-STEVENS POINT
- The Pointers sit at 15-7 on season and third overall in the WIAC, with a 7-4 conference record.
- Autumn Hannes leads the team in points (15.2), rebounds (6.3) and field goal percentage (.537)
- Laura Anklam is averaging 11.0 points and is second behind only Stout's Kycaide Diedrich in assists (3.2).
- The Pointers average 64.4 points and give up 57.9.

POINTERS LAST TIME OUT
- The Pointers handed UW-Whitewater their second straight set back with a 75-57 win at Whitewater Wednesday.
- Senior Autumn Hennes scored a career-high 29 points as the UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team (14-7, 6-4) got past visiting UW-Eau Claire (11-10, 5-5) by a 63-60 score at Berg Gym on Saturday afternoon.
- Taylor Barrett had a four-point run to keep the Pointers close late, but the Titans hit six-of-eight free throw attempts in the final minute to spurn the Pointers' comeback attempt.

LAST TIME STOUT AND STEVENS POINT MET
JOINING THE MIAC?: For the second year in a row, the Blue Devils will see considerable action with the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). Stout opens the season with five straight MIAC opponents - Augsburg College, St. Mary's University, the College of St. Benedict, Hamline University, St. Catherine University and Gustavus Adolphus College before finishing up the MIAC schedule with Bethel University and the Carleton College at the Just A Game Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells the end of December. Stout played six of the same teams last year, and added a pair of MIAC schools to the schedule to bring that total up to eight. - that's three-quarters of the 12 MIAC women's basketball teams.

THE COACHES:
UW-STOUT:
- Mark Thomas (465-325) is in his 30th year as the coach of the Blue Devils.
- Thomas has led his teams to 10 national playoff berths, nine times in the NCAA. A six-time WIAC coach of the year, the Blue Devils have won five conference titles and four conference tournament championships under Thomas' tutelage. His teams have twice been to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.
- Thomas is the first WIAC coach to have reached 400 career wins. Thomas also has the most wins of any Stout basketball coach, either men's or women's. Dwain Mintz coached the men's basketball program for 27 years and compiled a 385-280 record. .
- Only former baseball coach Terry Petrie has been a head coach as long as Thomas. Petrie was the baseball head coach for 30 seasons.
UW-RIVER FALLS:
- Cindy Holbrook (232-207) is in her 17th season as the head coach of the Falcons. Holbrook is the only person to have to earned WIAC player of the year and WIAC coach of the year.
- Holbrook played at UW-Stout and was a two-time All-WIAC first team selection and an All-American. Holbrook was inducted into the UW-Stout Hall of Fame in 2005. The Falcons won the regular season WIAC title last season.
UW-STEVENS POINT:
- Shirley Egner (524-227) is in her 28th season as the head coach of the Pointers. She is the winningest coach in WIAC women's basketball history.
- On November 16, 2014, Egner earned the 600th win of her coaching career as the Pointers defeated Martin Luther.
- Egner is a four-time WIAC Coach of the Year honoree, earning the award in 2003-04, 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2010-2011. In 2010, Egner was inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
- Egner was also named the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division III Women's Coach of the Year 2010, 2011 and 2012.
THE ROAD TO 400 WINS:
Mark Thomas' first collegiate win came the second game of his first season when his Blue Devils, which had won only two games over the previous two years, defeated Mt. Senario, 73-44, in November, 1987. The wins came more often after that. Thomas got his 50th win, Feb. 28, 1991, 71-60, over Cardinal Stritch. The 100th win came Jan. 10, 1994, an 80-59 win over UM-Morris. No. 200 came at UW-River Falls, a 78-74 victory on Jan. 5, 2000. Thomas' 300th win came in overtime, a 76-68 decision over UW-Stevens Point, Jan. 29, 2005. Thomas' 400th win came at UW-Stevens Point, a 90-76 decision, Feb. 3, 2010.
STOUT IN THE WIAC TOURNAMENT: Overall, UW-Stout is 19-10 in the WIAC Championship tournament. Stout is 11-3 in the first round, 4-7 in the semi-finals and 4-0 in the finals. The Pointers hold a 3-2 lead when the teams have met in the tournament. The Pointers have won the last two tournament meetings, an 82-74 win in 2009-10 and a 76-64 win during the 2008-09 season. |

CONFERENCES: UW-Stout is a member of the eight-team Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) along with UW-Eau Claire. UW-Oshkosh, UW-La Crosse, UW-Stevens Point, UW- Platteville, UW-River Falls, and UW-Whitewater.
