A LOOK AT UW-STOUT:
- The Blue Devils are second in the WIAC in scoring, averaging 67.6 points, trailing only UW-Whitewater.
- Kyncaide Diedrich leads the team in scoring with 13.7 points, fourth in the league, pulls down 6.0 rebounds and leads the WIAC in assists with 3.8.
- Both Diedrich and Jenna Goldsmith have scored in double figures in all of the conference games. Goldsmith is averaging 12.8 points, is third in the WIAC in rebounds (7.1), first in free throw percentage (.863, 44-51) and third in blocked shots (1.6).
- Bailey Diersen is chipping in11.8 points and is second on the team in assists (2.0)
- Following the Feb. 1 game at UW-Eau Claire, Jenna Goldsmith has 923 career points.

STEPPING UP IN CONFERENCE PLAY:
- Jenna Goldsmith has scored in double digits in all seven conference games so far averaging 17.4 points per conference contest.
- Against the Pioneers. Goldsmith scored 15 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked a shot.
- Stout's starters have also seen an increase in their minutes since the conference schedule started.
CONFERENCE STANDINGS:
- The Blue Devils are projected to finish sixth in the WIAC. Last season, the Blue Devils were the highest scoring offense in the WIAC, averaging 69.4 points per game. They also were second in the WIAC in rebounds per game, with 41.2 per game.
STOUT LAST TIME OUT:
- Jenna Goldsmith and Kyncaide Diedrich both extended their conference-long scoring streak, but it wouldn't be enough as UW-Eau Claire moved past UW-Stout in the fourth quarter to take an 83-67 win over the Blue Devils Wednesday at Zorn Arena. Both Goldsmith and Diedrich have scored in double digits in all nine of their conference games, with Goldsmith scoring a game-high 18 points and Diedrich chipping in 11. The Blugolds held a 37-33 halftime lead and the Blugolds outscored Stout by only two points in the second to take a 61-55 lead at the end of the third period. Eau Claire stretched the lead to 10 points with a 69-59 lead at 6:49 of the final stanza. The Blugolds shutdown the Blue Devils in the final 2:25 of the game.

- Eau Claire is sitting at 4-4 in the WIAC, getting wins against Platteville and Point, but suffering a loss last week against Oshkosh.
- The Blugolds are led by freshman forward Anna Grasskamp, who leads the team in points, rebounding, and field goal percentage.

BLUGOLDS LAST TIME OUT
- Eau Claire fell in their last contest against the WIAC leading Oshkosh Titans, 57-45
- The teams were tied at the end of the first period, after Oshkosh sunk a three pointer at the buzzer.
- Oshkosh then held the Blugolds to zero free throw attempts in the first half, and only two in the entire game.

SCOUTING UW-WHITEWATER
- Whitewater is ranked as the 19th-best team in the nation, according to D3hoops.com.
- The Warhawks are tied for the first seed with Oshkosh, having an overall record of 18-2, and 8-1 in the WIAC. Whitewater's only conference loss came Jan. 25 at UW-Stevens Point, 70-57.
- Brooke Trewyn is the leader for Whitewater, scoring 15.2Â points (1st WIAC), grabbing 6.9 rebounds (5th), and dishing 2.3 assists (7th) per game. Trewyn is third in the WIAC in steals (2.1).
- Malia Smith is averaging 13.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and leads the WIAC in steals (2.7). Reilly Stewart is tossing in 10.5 points. Andrea Meinert is averging 9.7 points and 6.2 rebounds.
- The Warhawks are tops in the WIACÂ in scoring with 69.2 points are second in points allowed with 57.8. The Warhawks lead the league in steals, averaging 10.2 per contest.

WARHAWKS LAST TIME OUT
- Whitewater forced 23 turnovers and out-rebounded UW-Platteville, 56-36, on their way to a 76-59 win over the visiting Pioneers Wednesday.Â
- After Platteville drew to within 43-41 with 5:05 left in the third quarter, Whitewater embarked on a 16-0 run over the next six minutes of game time.
- Junior guard Brooke Trewyn posted her fourth double double of the season with 17 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three steals. Senior guard Reilly Stewart tallied 14 points, three rebounds and two steals, and junior guard Malia Smith finished with 13 points.

LAST TIME STOUT ANDÂ WHITEWATERÂ MET
- UW-Stout rallied from a 20-17 deficit at the end of the first quarter and led or was tied for much of the game through the third quarter. But then 20th-ranked UW-Whitewater outscored the young Blue Devils 23-9 in the fourth quarter to escape with a 74-63 win at Kachel Gym.
- The Blue Devils had three players score in double figures. Jenna Goldsmith led the way with 19 points, and was just shy of a double-double with nine rebounds. Bailey Diersen tossed in 17 points and Kyncaide Diedrich added 12 points.
- The Warhawks' Reilly Stewart came off the bench to match Goldsmith's 19 points. Brooke Trewyn had 18 points and Becky Deichl contributed 14 points.
- Stout held a fairly decisive lead in rebounds, pulling down 46 to Whitewater's 35. But the Warhawks' Olivia Freckmann had a big day, getting nearly half of Whitewater's rebounds, with 17.

JOINING THE MIAC?:Â For the second year in a row, the Blue Devils will see considerable action with the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). Stout opens the season with five straight MIAC opponents - Augsburg College, St. Mary's University, the College of St. Benedict, Hamline University, St. Catherine University and Gustavus Adolphus College before finishing up the MIAC schedule with Bethel University and the Carleton College at the Just A Game Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells the end of December. Stout played six of the same teams last year, and added a pair of MIAC schools to the schedule to bring that total up to eight. - that's three-quarters of the 12 MIAC women's basketball teams.

THE COACHES:
UW-STOUT:Â
Mark Thomas (466-324) is in his 30th year as the coach of the Blue Devils. Thomas has led his teams to 10 national playoff berths, nine times in the NCAA. A six-time WIAC coach of the year, the Blue Devils have won five conference titles and four conference tournament championships under Thomas' tutelage. His teams have twice been to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. Thomas is the first WIAC coach to have reached 400 career wins. Thomas also has the most wins of any Stout basketball coach, either men's or women's. Dwain Mintz coached the men's basketball program for 27 years and compiled a 385-280 record. .
UW-EAU CLAIRE: Tonja Englund enters her 17
th season as head women's basketball coach in 2016-2017 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.The Blugolds finished off their 2015-2016 season tied for fourth in the WIAC with a 8-6 record, and a 14-13 record overall.Coming into the 2016-2017 season Englund's 284 wins ranks fourth most in WIAC history. In 2015-16 Englund became UW-Eau Claire's winningest women's basketball coach. Englund has four WIAC Championships under her belt (2001,2003,2008,2012) as well as five NCAA tournament appearances.
UW-WHITEWATER:Â
Kari Carollo (285-130) is in her 15th season as head women's basketball coach at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2016-17.Carollo guided the Warhawks to back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Division III Tournament semifinals in 2013 and 2014. UW-Whitewater finished as national runner-up in 2013 and in third place in 2014 to earn two of the four highest national finishes in program history. Carollo also led the team to a third-place finish in 2008, when the program made its first of seven consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Carollo was an assistant coach at Stout before moving on to take over the Warhawk program.
THE ROAD TO 400 WINS:
Mark Thomas' first collegiate win came the second game of his first season when his Blue Devils, which had won only two games over the previous two years, defeated Mt. Senario, 73-44, in November, 1987. The wins came more often after that. Thomas got his 50th win, Feb. 28, 1991, 71-60, over Cardinal Stritch. The 100th win came Jan. 10, 1994, an 80-59 win over UM-Morris. No. 200 came at UW-River Falls, a 78-74 victory on Jan. 5, 2000. Thomas' 300th win came in overtime, a 76-68 decision over UW-Stevens Point, Jan. 29, 2005. Thomas' 400th win came at UW-Stevens Point, a 90-76 decision, Feb. 3, 2010.
