THIS WEEK'S GAMES: The Blue Devils (8-6, 0-0 WIAC) were to begin their northern schedule with three doubleheaders this week, all on the road. But inclement weather has forced the postponement of Stout's trip  St. Olaf College (5-4, 0-0 MIAC), Thursday, March 31,  and the game at the University of Northwestern (4-12, 0-0 UMAC), Saturday, April 2. The St. Olaf game has been rescheduled to Thursday, April 7 at 3:30 p.m. The Northwestern game has been rescheduled to Wednesday, April 6 at 4:30 p.m. The Blue Devils are scheduled to be at the University of St. Thomas (11-3, 0-0 MIAC), Sunday, April 3. Both Northwestern and St. Thomas play their games on an artificial surface.

UW-STOUT: The Blue Devils are under new leadership this year as Becky Iaccino takes over as head coach. The Blue Devils return ace pitcher Tori Workman, as well as her entire supporting cast of pitchers - Beth Wood, McKayla Brunner and Abbey Ball. Workman, who recently set the school record for career strikeouts for a pitcher, has a 3-3 overall record, but recorded a couple of hard luck losses during the team's spring break trip to the Myrtle Beach, S. C. area.  Workman has an overall ERA of 1.18 with 36 striketouts in 47.1 innings pitched. Wood has a 3-2 overall record and a 3.60 ERA over 23.1 innings pitched. Brunner, who was able to pitch only one game last year, has a 2-1 record and appeared in five games, has 16 striketouts over 16.1 innings pitched. Catcher/outfielder Rachel Thomas has the team's top batting average, posting a .444 (20-45). Thomas has also stolen five bases in six attempts. Wood's bat has really come alive in the early part of the season, posting a .442 average (19-43) and lead the team in RBI with 12. Freshman Alicia Meyer has made the most of her plate appearances with a .421 average (8-19) and has nine RBI, including the team's only two home runs. The Blue Devils have 10 players posting batting averages higher than .300. | 2016 Statistics

BLUE DEVILS LAST TIME OUT: Stout went 8-4 in Myrtle Beach, rebounding from a first game loss, 5-inning loss. Along the way, the Blue Devils pounded out a school-record  25 runs in a 25-0 run over of Southern Vermont. They also posted a 12-0 win over Morrisville State and finished the 12-game classic style tournament with four shutouts. Stout got one-run wins over Albright College and Rutgers-Camden, but also had one run losses to Albright and Eureka College. First year coach Becky Iaccino was able to use all four pitchers throughout the week and played all team members in the field as she worked to establish a more consistent line-up. | Game Story and Stats

Stout finished the game with 13 hits, but only three hits were extra base hits, with a double by Alicia Meyer and triples by Sara Griesbach and Kelly Austin. Stout drew nine walks in the contest and twice Blue Devil batters were hit by a pitch. The previous record was 20 runs scored against Wisconsin Lutheran in 2000.
