A LOOK AT UW-STOUT:  The Blue Devils return six players from last season's squad, with only one senior and one returning junior. Jenna Goldsmith is the Blue Devils' only senior and Anna Brown is the team's only returning junior. Goldsmith led the team in scoring with 12.3 points per contest and was second in the conference in blocked shots. Goldsmith has led the team in scoring the last three seasons and last year averaged 7.3 rebounds per contest. Four sophomore guards - Bailey Diersen, Kyncaide Diedrich, Shannan Watkins and Carolyn Feddema - return. All four sophomores averaged at least 11 minutes of time as freshmen. Watkins started 20 of the team's 26 games, while Diersen earned three starts towards the end of the season. Diersen averaged 7.3 points per outing, while Watkins averaged 6.3 and Diedrich, 5.8. Stout last seson scored 75 or more points in 12 games, the most in the conference. In games where Stout has scored 75 or more points, the Blue Devils were 9-3. Stout was 3-1 in conference games scoring 75 or more points. | 2015-16 Season Preview | 2015-16 Statistics
CONFERENCE STANDINGS: The  Blue Devils are projected to finish sixth in the WIAC. Last season, the Blue Devils were the highest scoring offense in the WIAC, averaging 69.4 points per game. They also were second in the WIAC in rebounds per game, with 41.2 per game. The Blue Devils look to improve on these even more this season and will look to their six returners to take them there.
STOUT LAST TIME OUT:Â It was almost like playing in a forest for the Blue Devils when they went up against the much taller Badgers last Tuesday at the Kohl Center in Madison. The Badgers had seven players on their roster that were 6-foot or taller. But it was the Blue Devils' shortest player that led Stout in scoring. Kyncaide Diedrich, at 5-foot-5, scored 18 points, getting 10 points at the free throw line. She added a team-high nine rebounds. Fellow guards Bailey Diersen and Shannan Watkins each scored seven points. Wisconsin had four players in double figures, led by Suzanne Gilreath with 28. | Story and Box Score

SCOUTING AUGSBURG: The Auggies are projected to finish ninth in the tough MIAC conference this season. Like the Blue Devils, the Auggies are a young team with only four upperclassman on the roster. Last season Augsburg finished with a 14-11 record and just missed a MIAC tournament berth. Hannah Steinhaus, their leading rebounder from a year ago, has the most experience on the roster, playing in 24 of 25 games last season. Augsburg has a young but experience nucleus with junior forwards Steinhaus and Bridge Bednar both back, and sophomore forward Carlee Kobow adds even more depth up front. |Â 2015-16 Statistics
AUGGIES LAST TIME OUT: In their final game last season, they lost a 42-37 heart breaking decsion to St. Benedict that dashed the Auggies' playoff hopes. In a low-scoring affair that saw neither team able to extend a lead to double digits, the contest not surprisingly went down to the wire. St. Ben's held a 36-33 lead with four minutes to play but the Auggies were not able to score on their next five possessions and despite an Allison McKee made three-pointer with 50 seconds left in the action, were not able to steal the road victory from the Blazers. | Game Story and Statistics
LAST TIME STOUT AND AUGSBURG MET: The Blue Devils came out of Minneapolis last season with a 78- 69 win. Watkins added 13 points and five rebounds and Nicole Schaub finished with 11 points, hitting both of Stout's 3-pointers. Anna Brown (So, Wausau) had five rebounds.  Maria Laughlin led Augsburg with 14 points. Hannah Steinhaus had 11 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots. | Story and Statistics

Most recently, he spent eight seasons (2006-14) as an assistant coach for the University of Minnesota women's basketball team.
THE ROAD TO 400 WINS: Mark Thomas' first collegiate win came the second game of his first season when his Blue Devils, which had won only two games over the previous two years, defeated Mt. Senario, 73-44, in November, 1987. The wins came more often after that. Thomas got his 50th win, Feb. 28, 1991, 71-60, over Cardinal Stritch.
