Three of the top-five scorers return, including junior forward Jenna Goldsmith, who led the WIAC with a .542 field goal percentage and topped the team with 12.0 points per contest. Senior guard Kyleigh Hebert contributed 9.0 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. The Blue Devils will play three of their first eight games at home - all three in November. Goldsmith scored a career-high 21 points against UW-Oshkosh. Kyleigh Hebert has been a regular since transferring to Stout midway through her freshman year and last season led the team in assists and averaged 9.0 points. SCOUTING UW-EAU CLAIRE: The Blugolds, like the Blue Devils, have played in fits and starts all season. Individual players have been lighting up the scoreboard off and on all season. Madison Johnson scored a school record 42 points in December and 6-4 Erin O'Toole teased with breaking the record when she scored 35 points against the Blue Devils a couple of weeks ago. O'Toole scored 33 points against Platteville in a win, then scored 28 points against UW-Whitewater in two-point loss. O'Toole is leading the WIAC in points with 18.6 and is second in rebounds with 8.7. The seemingly-everywhere Teenie Lichtfuss is averaging 14.2 points. The Blugolds are averaging 65.4 points and giving up 64.9. |2015-16 Statistics

BLUGOLDS LAST TIME OUT: Eau Claire cut into a 10 point deficit, but UW-Oshkosh pulled away late to take a 65-53 win in Oshkosh Wednesday. Erin O'Toole was 14-of-18 from the free throw line and finished with a game-high 22 points. Teenie Lichtfuss hit three 3-pointers and added 17 points. | Game Story and Statistics

LAST TIME STOUT AND EAU CLAIRE MET:The Blugolds' Erin O'Toole scored a career-high 35 points and Eau Claire ran to an 81-67 win over the Blue Devils at Johnson Fieldhouse, Jan. 13. The Blue Devils did cut into a 22 point lead, but could not get the deficit under 10 points in the second half. Shannan Watkins led Stout with 12 points. | Story and Statistics

SCOUTING UW-STEVENS POINT: The Pointers have been ranked in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll since week four, and currently ranked 14th. Stevens Point started the season at 3-2, but since the calendar flipped to December, the Pointers have suffered only one loss - a 60-46 loss at UW-Oshkosh, Jan. 16 - and are 11-1 over that stretch. The Pointers have a balance attack and four different players have led Stevens Point in scoring in each of the last four games. Eight different players have assumed the role of leading scorer in a game throughout the season. Autumn Hennes is the team's leading scorer (11.2 ppg), but she has been out the last four games. Lauren Anklam and Allie Miceli are both averaging 10.2 points per game. Miceli is averaging a team-best 8.7 rebounds, tied for second in the WIAC. Anklam is third in the WIAC in assists with 3.12 and fourth in the WIAC in 3-pointers made with 1.53. The Pointers are averaging 62.3 points and giving up 54.1. In conference games only, the Pointers are allowing a league-low 52.7. |2015-16 Statistics

POINTERS LAST TIME OUT: Mickey Roland scored a career-high 19 points off the bench and the No. 19 UW-Stevens Point made eight consecutive free throws in the final 54 seconds to defeat UW-La Crosse 55-48 on Saturday evening at Mitchell Hall. |Game Story and Statistics

LAST TIME STOUT AND STEVENS POINT MET:The Pointers won both contests last season, a 64-51 win in Stevens Point, Dec. 10, 2014, and a 68-64 win on last Valentine's Day. In the opener, tevens Point was dominant on the boards and from the foul line as the Pointers shot 31 free throws, compared to just six for Stout, and grabbed 16 offensive boards that they turned into 22 second-chance points. The rematch turned into a physical game at Johnson Fieldhouse thatfeatured 55 total personal fouls, 27 on Stevens Point, 28 on Stout. The free throw line was a busy place for both teams. The Pointers connected on 23-of-36 charity shots (63.9 percent), while Stout connected on 21-of-27 (77.8 percent), matching a season-high for free throws made in a contest that took more than two hours. |Game One Story and Statistics|Game Two Story and Statistics

JOINING THE MIAC?: When the Blue Devils play St. Mary's University, it will mark the final regular season game with a member of the MIAC. With the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) freeing up their schedule to allow for more non-conference games, and UW-Superior leaving the WIAC, freeing up two game spots, it became obvious the Stout would play more MIAC schools in the future. Stout will face off against six MIAC schools - St. Benedict, Gustavus Adolphus, Augsburg College, Hamline University, St. Catherine and St. Mary's University - that's half of the 12 MIAC women's basketball teams.

AWARDS AND HONORS: Jenna Goldsmith was selected as the UW-Stout/Northwestern Mutual Athlete of the Week, Dec. 1, and again Jan. 4....Jenna Goldsmith was a first team all-conference selection in 2014-15 (last season) Brea Boomer was selected as the UW-Stout/Northwestern Mutual Athlete of the Week, Jan. 13...Kyleigh Hebert was named to the all-tournament team at the DePauw University Amy Hasbrook Classic in December...Jenna Goldsmith was selected as the UW-Stout/Northwestern Mutual Athlete of the Week, Dec. 8...Sarah Schoch was selected to the all-tournament team at the St. Norbert Tip-Off Classic... Kyleigh Hebert and Katelynne Folkers were All-WIAC honorable mention selections in 2013-14.

TEAM CAPTAINS: Team captains for the 2015-16 season are Maygan Mitchell, Kyleigh Hebert, Jenna Goldsmith and Sarah Schoch.

THE COACHES: UW-Stout: Mark Thomas (456-304) is in his 28th year as the coach of the Blue Devils. Thomas has led his teams to 10 national playoff berths, nine times in the NCAA. A six-time WIAC coach of the year, the Blue Devils have won five conference titles and four conference tournament championships under Thomas' tutelage. His teams have twice been to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. Thomas is the first WIAC coach to have reached 400 career wins. Thomas also has the most wins of any Stout basketball coach, either men's or women's. Dwain Mintz coached the men's basketball program for 27 years and compiled a 385-280 record. UW-Stevens Point: Shirley Egner (502-215) is in her 27th season at UW-Stevens Point. Over the last 14 seasons, Coach Egner has guided the Pointers to an average of nearly 23 wins per season and the team's319-87record over that span is the best mark of any WIAC team. Egner is a four-time WIAC Coach of the Year honoree, earning the award in 2003-04, 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2010-2011. In 2010, Egner was inducted into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Egner was also named the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division III Women's Coach of the Year 2010, 2011 and 2012. UW-Eau Claire: Tonja Englund (278-155) is in her 16th year at the helm at UW-Eau Claire and recently became the winningest coach in Blugold women's basketball history.

THE ROAD TO 400 WINS: Mark Thomas' first collegiate win came the second game of his first season when his Blue Devils, which had won only two games over the previous two years, defeated Mt. Senario, 73-44, in November, 1987. The wins came more often after that. Thomas got his 50th win, Feb. 28, 1991, 71-60, over Cardinal Stritch. The 100th win came Jan. 10, 1994, an 80-59 win over UM-Morris. No. 200 came at UW-River Falls, a 78-74 victory on Jan. 5, 2000. Thomas' 300th win came in overtime, a 76-68 decision over UW-Stevens Point, Jan. 29, 2005. Thomas' 400th win came at UW-Stevens Point, a 90-76 decision, Feb. 3, 2010.

CONFERENCES: UW-Stout is a member of the eight-team Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) along with UW-Eau Claire. UW-Oshkosh, UW-La Crosse, UW-Stevens Point, UW- Platteville, UW-River Falls, and UW-Whitewater. Superior left the WIAC after last season.
