A LOOK AT UW-STOUT: The Blue Devils have put together a three game winning streak, their longest streak since the end of the 2013-14 season. got into the win column with an 83-75 win over Simpson College at the Gustavus Classic Saturday, then followed that up with a 78-69 win at Augsburg Monday night.
Jenna Goldsmith has scored in double digits in the last four games, and the 2015 All-WIAC pick is now averaging a team-high 13.0 points and 7.8 rebounds. After five games, Goldsmith is ranked third in the conference in rebounds and eighth in scoring.
Kyleigh Hebert is averaging 8.8 points and
Sarah Schoch, after a career-best 25 points against Hamline Tuesday, is averaging 9.8 points and 4.0 rebounds. Freshman
Shannan Watkins is averaging 7.4 points. Hebert leads the WIAC in assists, averaging 6.0 per game. Goldsmith last year led the league in field goal percentage and while she is still finding her range from the field, Goldsmith has been pretty good from the line, dropping in 17-of-20 charity shots. After scoring 11 points in each of the last two games,
Nicole Schaub is averaging 6.6 points. Schaub has dropped in a team best eight 3-pointers Freshman

2015-16 StatisticsA UW-STOUT PREVIEW: UW-Stout has six letterwinners back from a year ago and a roster that includes four seniors, four juniors, three sophomores and seven freshmen - these totals include three transfers (one sophomore, one junior, one senior). Three of the top-five scorers return, including junior forward
Jenna Goldsmith, who led the WIAC with a .542 field goal percentage and topped the team with 12.0 points per contest. Senior guard
Kyleigh Hebert contributed 9.0 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. The Blue Devils will play three of their first eight games at home - all three in November.
Jenna Goldsmith earned All-WIAC honors last season and averaged 12 points per game and was second on the team in rebounds with 6.0 rebounds. Goldsmith scored a career-high 21 points against UW-Oshkosh.
Kyleigh Hebert has been a regular since transferring to Stout midway through her freshman year andlast season led the team in assists and averaged 9.0 points. Hebert will work some at the point, but will predominately be out on the wing.

2014-15 StatisticsSTOUT LAST TIME OUT: UW-Stout's
Sarah Schoch scored a career-high 25 points, 19 in the first half and led the Blue Devils to an 86-63 win over Hamline University, Tuesday, marking Stout's third consecutive win. Schoch lit up the scoreboard in the first quarter, scoring 11 points, hitting 3-of-4 3-pointers as Stout jumped out to 25-10 lead after the first stanza. Schoch continued the onslaught in the second quarter, adding eight more points, including two 3-pointers, and Stout led 46-26 at halftime. As a team, Stout shot 10 3-pointers for the game. |

Nicole Schaub added 11 points, making both of Stout's 3-pointers, as the Blue Devils evened their record at 2-2. The Blue Devils jumped out to a 17-6 first quarter lead, but the Auggies took a one point lead in the third quarter, before Stout slammed the door with a 24 point third quarter. Stout shot a season-best 50 percent from the floor and outrebounded the Auggies, 42-32. |

Jenna Goldsmith scored a career-high 23 points and collected her first double-double of the season as UW-Stout defeated Simpson College, 83-75, at the Gustavus Adolphus Classic Saturday. Goldsmith shot 8-of-17 from the field for a game-high 23 points, collecting 15 points in the first half as Stout held a 43-39 halftime lead. Goldsmith also pulled down 12 rebounds, recorded two blocked shots, two steals and one assist. Goldsmith was 7-of-7 from the free throw line. Sophomore guard

CATHERINE: Lashay Holt has been a key to the Wildcats' four game winning streak to give St. Kate's their best start since the 2008-09 season, coming off the bench in three games and averaging 15.3 points and 9.0 rebounds. Audra Clark is averaging 10.3 points and 6.5 rebounds. Shauna Horsch averages 10.0 points. Kennedy Jennings is averagine 8.8 points and 5.0 rebounds. The Wildcats are averaging 70.2 points and giving up 54.0 points. The Wildcats' 10 wins last season were more than each of the previous three years combined. and the Wildcats also finished the MIAC season 5-13 - the program's best finish in conference play in five years. The season started with an upset victory over conference runner-up Bethel University and also ended with a three-game MIAC winning streak. |
Wildcats StatisticsTHE WILDCATS LAST TIME OUT: The Wildcats went off on a 14-1 run to open the fourth quarter on their way to a 69-45 win over North Central University, Tuesday. The Wildcats had four players reach double digits in scoring with Audra Clark leading the way with 12. The sophomore shot 5-of-8 from the floor and also contributed five rebounds, four steals, one block and an assist. Kennedy Jennings added 10 points and led the team with six rebounds and four blocks. She also picked up three steals and an assist. LaShay Holt came off the bench for 10 points and a game-high seven steals. She also pulled in five boards and added two assists. Shauna Horsch joined the 10-point scorers and recorded a game-high five assists. She also had four steals and four rebounds on the night. |
Story and Box ScoreLAST TIME STOUT AND ST. KATE MET: UW-Stout held off a late charge by St. Catherine to pick up their first win of the season, downing the Wildcats, 77-70, Nov. 20, 2014. The Blue Devils built up by as much as a 12 point lead halfway through the second half, but St. Catherine came back to twice tie the game in the waning minutes of the game. Game Story and StatisticsSCOUTING AUGSBURG: The Auggies are off to a quick start with wins over St. Scholastica and Northwestern. Maria Laughlin and Ashley Anfinson are both averaging 11.5 points and Hannah Steinhaus has chipped in 10.5 points. Augsburg College is aiming to continue its recent success in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball race in 2015-16. A year ago, the Auggies set a program record with 15 wins and qualified for the MIAC postseason playoffs for the first time in school history. Ted Riverso, entering his first season as Augsburg's head coach and 16th overall, has the Auggies ready to improve upon last year's 15-12 overall record and 9-9 mark in MIAC play.In the MIAC preseason coaches poll released on Wednesday, Augsburg was tabbed to finish sixth in the conference race, just behind Saint Benedict and Concordia. Auggies StatisticsTHE AUGGIES LAST TIME OUT: Augsburg jumped out to a quick lead and was able to use a strong fourth quarter to earn a 58-51victory over the University of Northwestern-St. Paul in nonconference action Nov. 17 at the Ericksen Center.Augsburg jumped out to a quick 21-8 lead after the first quarter but was only able to score 13 points in the second and third quarters combined. The Auggies outscored Northwestern 24-13 in the final quarter to seal the victory and move to 2-0 on the season. Augsburg was led offensively by Maria Loughlin, who scored a game-high 19 points on 6-of-12 shooting, while adding a team-high six assists, six rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots. |

SCOUTING HAMLINE: Last season, Chelsey Bonsante averaged 15.4 ppg and Chloe Graves wasn't too far behind at 12.9. Alex Peterson was second on the team in rebounds as a freshman. The Pipers are off to a slow start this year, dropping all three of their contests so far, to UW-River Falls (73-55), North Central University (70-64, ot) and the University of Northwestern (76-58). Graves this season is averaging 19.3 points and Bonsante 16.7. Peterson is leading the Pipers off the glass with 5.4 caroms per contest and Emily Behrman is averaging 5.0 boards. |

Game Story and StatisticsJOINING THE MIAC?: With the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) freeing up their schedule to allow for more non-conference games, and UW-Superior leaving the WIAC, freeing up two game spots, it became obvious the Stout would play more MIAC schools in the future. Stout will face off against six MIAC schools - St. Benedict, Gustavus Adolphus, Augsburg College, Hamline University, St. Catherine and St. Mary's University - that's half of the 12 MIAC women's basketball teams.

THE COACHES: UW-Stout: Mark Thomas (450-296) is in his 28th year as the coach of the Blue Devils. Thomas has led his teams to 10 national playoff berths, nine times in the NCAA. A six-time WIAC coach of the year, the Blue Devils have won five conference titles and four conference tournament championships under Thomas' tutelage. His teams have twice been to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. Thomas is the first WIAC coach to have reached 400 career wins. Thomas also has the most wins of any Stout basketball coach, either men's or women's. Dwain Mintz coached the men's basketball program for 27 years and compiled a 385-280 record.
Augsburg: Ted Riverso is in his first year with the Auggies. Riverso served as women's basketball head coach at the University of St. Thomas from 1984 to 1999, building the Tommies into a national powerhouse in small-college women's basketball. Most recently, he spent eight seasons (2006-14) as an assistant coach for the University of Minnesota women's basketball team. In his 15 seasons as head coach at St. Thomas, Riverso led the Tommies to five MIAC championships (1991, 1992, 1996, 1997, 1998), 11 top-two MIAC finishes, 14 straight appearances in the NCAA Division III national tournament, three trips to the NCAA Division III Final Four (1991, 1995, 1996) and the 1991 NCAA Division III national title.
Hamline: Kerri Stockwellenters her sixth season at the helm of the women's basketball program in 2015-16, following a successful stint as the head assistant coach with Concordia University-St. Paul. Stockwell also serves as Hamline's senior woman administrator.
St. Catherine:
Sean Pinkerton begins his fourth season as head coach of the St. Catherine basketball team in 2015-16. Since taking over the program, the Wildcats have had a dramatic turnaround. Last season, the Wildcats surpassed the program's win total from the previous three seasons combined and posted the most MIAC wins since the 2010-11 season.
THE ROAD TO 400 WINS:
Mark Thomas' first collegiate win came the second game of his first season when his Blue Devils, which had won only two games over the previous two years, defeated Mt. Senario, 73-44, in November, 1987. The wins came more often after that. Thomas got his 50th win, Feb. 28, 1991, 71-60, over Cardinal Stritch. The 100th win came Jan. 10, 1994, an 80-59 win over UM-Morris. No. 200 came at UW-River Falls, a 78-74 victory on Jan. 5, 2000. Thomas' 300th win came in overtime, a 76-68 decision over UW-Stevens Point, Jan. 29, 2005. Thomas' 400th win came at UW-Stevens Point, a 90-76 decision, Feb. 3, 2010.
CONFERENCES: UW-Stout is a member of the nine-team Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) along with UW-Eau Claire. UW-Oshkosh, UW-La Crosse, UW-Stevens Point, UW- Platteville, UW-River Falls, and UW-Whitewater. Superior left the WIAC after last season.
