17th ranked Titans roll out to early lead on way to win over Blue Devils

OSHKOSH (February 8, 2014) - UW-Oshkosh went on a roll early and never looked back as they defeated UW-Stout, 78-50, at Kolf Sports Center Saturday.

The 17th ranked Titans (19-2, 10-2 WIAC) went on a 21-4 run early in the game and built up a 30-12 lead. The Titans continued the offensive output, using a 20-4 run int he second half for a 59-29 lead, then built up as much as a 67-34 lead.

The Blue Devils (7-14, 3-9 WIAC) connected on 20-of-49 shots from the field (40.8 percent), but only hit 1-of-15 3-point tries. Stout was led by Sami Schoeder (Sr, Durand) with 11 points and Kyleigh Hebert (So, Spencer) with 10 points.

The Titans connected on 28-of-63 shots from the field (44.4 percent) and put down 8-of-25 3-pointers (32 percent) and added 14-of-23 free throws. Ashley Neeustifter led all scorers with 16 points and Sarah Stecker added 13 points.

Oshkosh controlled the boards, pulling down 44 rebounds to 33 for Stout.

The Blue Devils will be at UW-Superior, Wednesday, Feb. 12 for a 7 p.m. meeting.
