Baseball Preview: Stout/Platteville games moved to Platteville

Live Stats vs. UW-Platteville

THIS WEEK'S GAMES: UW-Stout  (8-19, 2-10 WIAC) was scheduled to host UW-Platteville (7-22, 2-12 WIAC), Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28, but field conditions of Nelson Field could not be guaranteed and the weekend series has been moved to Platteville. Saturday's games will begin at 1 p.m., with Sunday's games to get underway at noon.

THE 2013 BLUE DEVILS: UW-Stout snapped a nine-game skid in a big way when they pounded UW-Stevens Point, 14-4, in seven innings in the second half of a double header Wednesday at UW-Stevens Point. The Blue Devils have been road warriors throughout the season. The Platteville game is the first game where Stout has a glimmer of hope of playing on their home field. Stout has had to move weekend doubleheaders to UW-Oshkosh and to UW-Whitewater over the past two weeks. Stout opened the series at Stevens Point Wednesday with a 12-2 seven inning loss, but bounced back when Matt Guida broke out of a slump and smacked two three-run home runs to punctuate Stout's attack. As a team, Stout is hitting .297, while their opponents are hitting .312. |  2013 Statistics

HITTING THE BALL:  While Stout is 8-19 overall, hitting the ball doesn't appear to be a huge problem for the Blue Devils, but scoring runs tends to be.
