MENOMONIE (February 16, 2013) - Despite a valiant second-half comeback effort, UW-Stout could not overcome their 14-point halftime deficit, and closed out their season with a 55-40 loss to UW-Oshkosh, Saturday evening at Johnson Fieldhouse.

Stout (10-15, 4-12 WIAC) was out-rebounded, 22-13, and shot just 32 percent in the first half to fall into a 33-19 hole at halftime. Stout strung together an 11-0 run in the second half, but would get no closer than nine points as Oshkosh (20-5, 12-4 WIAC) completed their season sweep of the Blue Devils.

The Titans jumped out to a 7-2 lead through four minutes of play, but the Blue Devils used a Sami Schoeder (Jr, Durand) three and a Brea Boomer (So, Grand Portage, Minn.) layup to knot the score at seven apiece. From there, Oshkosh went on a 7-0 run, only to have Stout come right back with a 5-0 run of their own.

That, however, would be the closest the Blue Devils would get the rest of the game. Oshkosh reeled off a 17-4 run, and opened the second half with an 8-2 spurt to grab a 20-point, 41-21 lead. Stout's 11-0 run cut the lead to nine, but the Titans answered with an 8-0 stretch that gave them a comfortable lead for the remainder of the contest.

Schoeder led Stout with 12 points and Kyleigh Hebert (Fr, Spencer) led the squad with six boards. Oshkosh's Megan Wenig led all players with 18 points, shooting 3-of-7 from beyond the arc.

Senior Whitney Rawdon (Eau Claire) saw action for the first time in 10 games, as she competed in her final game as a Blue Devil, as did Kayla Windt (Sr, Pence), who finished her career with 100 appearances in a Blue Devil uniform.
