THE BLUE DEVILS (2-3, 0-0 WIAC): The Blue Devils bring a huge roster to the 2013-14 season, a roster tallying 24 players. But of those, 12 are newcomers to the program. But on the flip side, 12 returners have seen time in a Blue Devil uniform. Senior Sami Schoeder returns to lead the Blue Devils and is back to 100 percent, according to 27th year coach Mark Thomas,  since an injury kept her out half of her sophomore season. Even at less than 100 percent, Schoeder caught the attention of conference opponentsand was an all-WIAC honorable mention selection for the second time. Schoeder averaged 8.7 points last year and Thomas said the team will lean on Schoder as a shooter. Brea Boomer brings a tough mentality inside the paint. As a sophomore, Boomer averaged 11.8 poitns and 4.3 rebounds. She also earned all-WIAC honorable mention honors. Katelynn Folkers, who has played the point the past two years, will move to a wing as Kyleigh Hebert, who joined the team after Christmas, gets more accustomed to the Blue Devil system. Folkers averaged 8.6 points and led the team in assists with 55. She was third on the team in rebounds, averaging 5.0 caroms. Hebert, who played in 12 games, averaged 5.6 points and dished off 21 assists. Rachel Hanley and Schoeder are the only seniors on the team. Hanley will come off the bench as a point guard.  | 2012-13 Statistics

UW-Stout stepped up to a pair of NCAA Division II opponents their last two times out. Kyleigh Hebert has been the Blue Devils' spark plug so far this year. The guard is leading the team in scoring with 10.2 points and hit a career-best 18 points against St. Cloud State last time out. Brea Boomer is averaging 9.0 points and Shelby Sterba has been averaging 8.0 points. Sterba leads Stout in rebounds with 4.8. Freshman Jenna Goldsmith is averaging 4.4 rebounds. Stout has a roster of 24 players, 12 newcomers, 12 returners.  Stout is currently second amongst WIAC teams in field goal percentage defense (.374).  The Blue Devils lead the WIAC in rebounds with an average of 45.4 per game.
