THIS WEEK BY THE NUMBERS
25-2 Stout's record against UW-Superior in their 27 meetings since 2000, including Wednesday's win.
.689 Stout's all-time winning percentage against Platteville, their highest of such against any WIAC opponent.
20.6 Stout's average margin of victory.
25.7 Stout's average margin of loss.
7 Combined wins against Superior and Platteville since 2010 (9 total WIAC victories).
THE BLUE DEVILS (5-3, 1-1 WIAC): Stout is coming off an important conference win on Wednesday, a 79-68 home victory over UW-Superior. A game after defeating third-ranked UW-Stevens Point, the Yellowjackets entered Johnson Fieldhouse hot, but left curious, along with many Blue Devil fans, about Stout's potential going forward. Stout continues to ride a roller coaster of a season that has featured some big wins and some big losses. The Blue Devils have only played in one game decided by 10 points or less, a six-point win against Hamline. They have a 55-point win and a 40-point loss, and their seven games, win or lose, have been decided by an average of 22.5 points, although their overall scoring margin is just +3.3. Senior Whitney Rawdon is on fire in her last three games, scoring 16, 16, and 17 points in succession, and has upped her average to 14 per game. She also leads the team with 6.3 rebounds per game. On Wednesday, Rawdon and fellow senior Kayla Windt combined to score 20 of Stout's final 22 points to close out the Yellowjackets. Brea Boomer is pitching in 11.4 points per game and Katelynne Folkers is offering 9.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per contest. Sami Schoeder is averaging 8.4 points per game including a 24-point performance against St. Scholastica. Five Blue Devils are averaging at least four rebounds per game as they are out-rebounding their opponents, 44-40 on average. | 2012-13 Statistics

CONTINUING THE TREND: In both recent years and throughout their program's history, Stout has taken advantage of their games against this week's opponents. Their all-time winning percentages against UW-Platteville and UW-Superior are .689 (42-19) and .615 (48-30), respectively, which rank first and third among Stout's winning percentages against WIAC opponents. In the past six season, Stout is a combined 22-3 against them. Following their win Wednesday night, Stout has won 25 of the past 27 against Superior and 12 of the last 13 against Platteville, so they will look to continue the trend this weekend.

STOUT'S LAST TIME OUT: Seniors Kayla Windt and Whitney Rawdon combined for 17 points in the final five minutes to hold off a surging UW-Superior squad, and left their home court with a 79-68 win, Wednesday night. In the final five minutes, the Blue Devils scored four points from the field and 15 from the charity stripe. Windt scored 11 of her 14 points during that stretch while Rawdon scored six of her team-high 17. Stout jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after forcing four Yellowjacket turnovers in the first five minutes. Superior stormed back, however, and tied the game at 11-all.  Connie Urmanski, who finished with a game-high 22 points, added two free throws to give her team their first lead of the night midway through the first half. The teams traded buckets for the next couple of minutes before Stout reeled off an 11-3 run to close the half. Ashley Deschampe led the charge with five points during that run, while Haley Froehlich added five. Stout continued to stay hot through the break and turned their seven-point halftime lead into a 46-27 margin five minutes into the second half. Brea Boomer scored eight of her 11 points to help spark the early second-half charge. In the three minutes leading up to halftime and the five minutes following it, Stout outscored Superior, 25-6, to build a 19-point lead, their largest of the night. The Yellowjackets would not go away. In fact, they quickly began erasing their deficit. Superior was scoring just as often as Stout was turning the ball over and five minutes later, Stout's lead had gone from 19 to two. Froehlich, who ended with a career-high 12 points, put an end to Superior's 19-2 run with a three-pointer at 9:43. She added another jumper two minutes later, and a pair of free throws at the seven-minute mark, and Stout led by nine. From then on, it was the Rawdon and Windt show to hold on for the win. The two accounted for 20 of Stout's last 22 points, a combined 13-of-14 from the line and 3-of-3 from the field during that stretch. | Story and Stats

TRADITION: In 10 of the last 13 seasons, Stout has been either the first or second leading scoring team in the WIAC. In the final team standings, Stout has finished no lower in the conference than fourth in 11 of the last 14 years. Last year broke the trend, however, as they finished second to last in scoring and eight out of nine teams in the conference standings with a final league record of 3-13.

JOHNSON FIELDHOUSE: The “cozy confines of Johnson Fieldhouse” has proven to be quite an advantage for the Blue Devils. Since the 2000-01 season, Stout has posted a 120-33 (.784) record at home. In conference games at Johnson Fieldhouse since 2000-01, Stout has a 74-25 (.747) record. She attended UW-Stevens Point where she captained the 2002 national champion sqaud.

THE ROAD TO 400 WINS: Mark Thomas' first collegiate win came the second game of his first season when his Blue Devils, which had won only two games over the previous two years, defeated Mt. Senario, 73-44, in November, 1987. The wins came more often after that. Thomas got his 50th win, Feb. 28, 1991, 71-60, over Cardinal Stritch.
