MENOMONIE (January 14, 2012) - UW-Stout began to make a run at UW-Oshkosh, cutting the lead to eight points several times. Then, when it looked like the Blue Devils' would force a shot clock violation, the Titans' Katie Kitzke hit a 3-pointer just as the buzzer went off for a 60-49 lead with just over four minutes remaining.

The Blue Devils (4-12, 0-7 WIAC) never got closer than 10 points the rest of the way as the Titans took a 74-61 win at Johnson Fieldhouse, their first win in Menomonie since the 2002-03 season. The 3-pointer would play a big factor for the Titans throughout the evening.

The game was tight throughout the first half, with the teams trading leads until Oshkosh (7-9, 1-6 WIAC) grabbed the lead with 4:28 left in the first half on a Kitzke bucket, then ran up to a 34-38 halftime lead.

The Titans built the lead to nine points, 40-31, early in the second half when Stout started to chip away. A three-point play by Kayla Windt (Jr, Pence) cut the lead to six, 40-34.Brea Boomer (Fr, Grand Portage, Minn) made it 40-36 and Whitney Rawdon (Jr, Eau Claire) cut it to two points, 40-38, at the 13:44 mark.

Rawdon followed that bucket up a minute later to knot the score at 40 apiece and one free throw by Windt gave Stout their last lead of the afternoon.

Oshkosh's Megan Wenig, who would go on to score a game-high 23 points, gave the Titans the lead for good at 11:15, igniting a 10-0 run, scoring eight of the 10 points. The closest Stout would get the rest of the game was 10 points a couple of times in the final 90 seconds after burying a pair of 3-pointers.

Wenig led all scorers with 23 points while Kitzke added points. Both Wenig and Kitzke scored 13 points in the second half. The Titans dropped in 11 3-pointers, with Wenig leading the way with five and Kitzke with four.

Stout got 12 points from Ronnie Moltzau (Fr, Eleva), nine in the first half. Rawdon finished with 11 and a game-high nine rebounds. and Katelynne Folkers (Fr, Fall Creek) tossed in 10 points.
