MENOMONIE (September 18, 2010) - UW-Stout scored two minutes into the game and never stopped on their way to a 63-0 win over an outmatched Eureka College Saturday at Don & Nona Williams Stadium.
Craig Warminski (Jr, Stanley) scored the opening touchdown and was one of three Stout players that scored two touchdowns on the day as Stout rolled up 556 total yards, while holding Eureka to 52 yards.
Stout tallied a 35-0 first quarter score and led 49-0 at halftime.
Warminski and
Carlos Concepcion (Sr, Milwaukee) had two scores in the first quarter. Warminski scored his second TD on an 80-yard punt return.
Ross Carey (Jr, Little Suamico) connected with
Patrick Mengelkoch (Sr, Champlin, Minn) for a 32-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter.
The Blue Devils pulled their starters early in the second quarter, but it didn't really matter.
Marty Guza (So, Independence) raced 61-yards for a TD midway through the second quarter.
Daniel Vyvyan (Fr, Union Grove) had 13 yard TD late in the second and led all rushers with 110 yards.
Paul Bernier (So, Lakeville, Minn) scored on a 5-yard run in the third quarter and capped off Stout's scoring with a 9-yard run in the fourth quarter. Twelve different Blue Devils had at least one rush today.
Richard Marteney (Fr, Greenfield) was a perfect 9-for-9 in extra points.
The school record for most points scored in a single game was 65 against Waldorf College in 2004.
Stout is off next week and will return to action Saturday, Oct. 2 at UW-RIver Falls.
