Stout loses a tale of two different games

Bethel 6, Stout 5 | Bethel 24, Stout 2

ST. PAUL, Minn. (April 17, 2010) - It was the tale of two completely different games and UW-Stout turned out to be on the losing end of both games as the Blue Devils dropped a pair of non-conference games at Bethel University, 6-5, 24-2, Saturday.

Jon Schoch (So, Chippewa Falls) hit a two-run home run in the top of the first to give Stout a lead, but the Royals came back to eventually tie the game, then took the lead with a run in the bottom of the sixth in these two scheduled seven inning contests.

In the second game, Bethel scored at least one run in every inning and took an 11-0 lead after two innings. Stout did score in the third when Schoch drew a base-loaded walk.  Bethel scored five runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to completely put the game out of reach. Clay Lanners (Fr, Monticello, Minn) drove in Stout's final run in the top of the seventh.

Stout returns to WIAC action Wednesday, April 21 when they host UW-Superior at 1 p.m.
