MENOMONIE (December 7, 2010) -
Kayla Windt (So, Pence) scored a career-high 17 points, but her efforts were not nearly enough, as UW-La Crosse dominated, winning by a score of 75-54, Wednesday night at Johnson Fieldhouse.
Windt shot 7-for-11 from the field, including 2-of-5 from beyond the three point arc. She also added a game-high four steals.
La Crosse's (8-1, 2-1 WIAC) Danielle Frank set the tone early and was the star of the game throughout. Frank, who finished the game with 18 points and 14 rebounds, scored 10 of the Eagles' first 12 points, as La Crosse jumped out to a 12-5 lead. By halftime, Frank had 14 points and 11 boards and the Eagles held a 41-29 lead over the Blue Devils (3-6, 0-3 WIAC).
Five minutes into the second half, La Crosse put the game virtually out of reach. The Eagles tore away on a 14-0 run, part of a 19-2 run that lasted nearly ten minutes. Stout ended the game on a 7-0 run but it was way too little, too late, as the Devils dropped thier fourth straight.
Whitney Rawdon (So, Eau Claire) led Stout in rebounding with seven, one shy of her career high.
Stout will travel to UW-Eau Claire this Saturday, Dec. 11 to face the Blugolds in a men's and women's doubleheader. The women are set to tip off at 5 p.m.
