Blue Devils rip through St. Scholastica

Four Stout players score in double figures, Keehr gets 8 steals

MENOMONIE (November 27, 2010) - UW-Stout turned up the defensive screws and forced 38 turnovers by St. Scholastica, 19 in each half, and went on to a 79-55 win at the Quality Inn and Suites Turkey Shootout at Johnson Fieldhouse.

The game was close through the first 15 minutes of the game, but, with the scored tied at 20-20, Stout went on an 11-2 run to take a 31-22 lead as Tricia VanVreede (Sr, Little Chute) scored six of game-high 14 points during the run. It was off to the races for the Blue Devils (3-2) as the game was only once as close as seven points the rest of the way.

Stout was able to stretch the lead to as much as 24 points late in the game as the Blue Devils were able to play all 21 players for at least two minutes.

Whitney Rawdon (So, Eau Claire) matched VanVreede for scoring honors with 14 points. Kayla Windt (So, Pence) added 12 points for Stout and Sami Schoeder (Fr, Durand) pitched in 10 points. VanVreede led all players with nine rebounds and Schoeder yanked down eight. Point guard Kimmy Keehr (So, Spring Valley) recorded eight steals.

The Saints (1-3) had no players in double figures. Laura Amys came off the bench to score nine points. Savanna Trichel had seven points and a team-high seven rebounds.

Stout will play Carroll University, Sunday, Nov. 28 at 3 p.m. St. Scholastica will play UW-Oshkosh at 11 a.m. Carroll College defeated UW-Oshkosh.
