MENOMONIE (January 12, 2010) - Throughout the season, four seniors have sparked UW-Stout. Now make that five seniors.

Stacy Bush (Sr, Hills, Minn), who is averaging 3.3 minutes per game, came off the bench with about two minutes left in the first half and scored five points before halftime to start a Blue Devil run that carried over into the second half as Stout defeated Northland, 79-67, Tuesday at Johnson Fieldhouse.

Trailing by three with under a minute to go in the first half, Bush made a three-point play, followed by a jumper on the following possession.  The 5-0 run to finish the period started what came to be a 21-6 run to give Stout a 12-point lead five minutes into the second half.

Holding an 11-point lead midway through the second half, the Blue Devils (9-6) started a 14-3 run to virtually seal the victory.

Eight players scored in double figures, four from each team.  Julia Hirssig (Sr, Rochester, Minn.) led all players with 23 points, Kim Stokke (Sr, Menomonie) added 15, while Kayla Windt (Fr, Pence) ended with a collegiate high 12 points on 5-5 shooting, including 2-2 from beyond the arc.  Danielle DeWitt (Sr, Green Bay) tallied 11 points. Hirssig also led the pack with nine rebounds.

The Lumberjills (8-5) were led by Lindsey Hamm with 18 and Lulu Seelye and Sam Stanfield with 12 points each. Chelsea Lundgren added 10 points.

Stout's offensive output of 79 points is the most allowed by Northland all season.

The Blue Devils travel to UW-Oshkosh, Saturday, Jan. 16, then to UW-Superior the following Wednesday for two crucial WIAC contests.
