Carroll 85, Stout 71

Julia Hirssig's (Sr, Rochester, Minn) 25 points couldn't help UW-Stout avert an 85-71 loss at Carroll University, Saturday.
After an off night the previous game, Hirssig let up the scoreboard by hitting 12-of-15 shots from the floor. But she was the only Blue Devil to score in double figures and the Pioneers (2-1) had four players score 15 or more points.
Stout (0-3) trailed 43-41 at halftime and tied the score five mintues into the second half. But Carroll used an 8-0 run to jump out to a 60-52 lead and Stout never led or tied after that, although they did get as close as two points with nine minutes remaining.
Lyndsey Seewald scored 20 points, Janelle Groer 19, Karen Hoewisch 18 and Leah Lemke 15 for the Pioneers.
Stout will be at Northwestern College, Tuesday, Nov. 24.
