DULUTH, Minn (November 14, 2009) - UW-Stout hits the road for the first time this season and will travel north to take on St. Scholastica in two NCHA contests this weekend.
Stout and St. Scholastica tied last night, 4-4, and the teams will meet tonight at 7:05 p.m. Stout is ranked ninth in the latest USHCO.com Division III poll, while the Saints are ranked 10th.
The two teams last meet in March in an NCAA quarterfinal game when the Blue Devils (2-2-0, 0-2-0) edged the Saints, 2-1, in overtime on a game-winning shot by
Jack Wolgemuth to send Stout to their first-ever NCAA Division III Frozen Four.
Stout is fresh off a pair of wins over St. Mary's University, 6-1, and St. Thomas, 8-0. The Saints (3-1-0, 2-0-0) last weekend lost, 3-1, to St. John's and beat Concordia-Moorhead, 4-3. During the opening weekend, Stout was swept by St. Norbert, 2-0, 4-1, while the Saints swept past UW-Stevens Point, 4-2, 2-1.
