Blue Devils Battle Hamline in 4-0 Setback

MENOMONIE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Stout Polytechnic men's soccer team fell to Hamline University 4-0 Wednesday at Nelson Field.

Hamline scored three times in the opening 28 minutes and added another goal late in the second half to secure the victory.

The Blue Devils had five shots on goal, with Logan Bergien recording three shots on target. Patrick Zich and Trey White also put shots on frame, but Hamline goalkeeper Brandon Cruz Rojas stopped all five Stout shots on goal.
Stout goalkeeper Eddie Puglisi made six saves in the match, including four in the opening half.

Stout generated more offensive pressure in the second half, recording seven shots after halftime, including three shots on goal by Bergien.

Stout falls to 2-3-1 on the season and returns home Saturday, hosting Concordia University Wisconsin at 3 p.m. at Nelson Field.
