MILWAUKEE - (February 27, 2026) –
Mai Nou Vang exploded for a game-high six goals to lead the UW-Stout women's lacrosse team to a convincing 14-8 road win over MSOE on Friday evening at the Viets Field.
Vang's offensive outburst paced Stout (1-1), as she added an assist, nine draw controls, and eight shots on goal in a standout performance.
Riley Schulte contributed three goals, while
Megan Palmer chipped in two goals, an assist, and four draw controls.
Brinley Tonn (one goal, two assists) and
Lauren Busho (one goal, one assist) provided additional scoring depth. Goalkeeper
Emilia Bullock anchored the defense with 14 saves, allowing just eight goals against 40 shots.
Stout jumped out to a strong start in the first quarter, scoring three times while holding MSOE to one. Schulte opened the scoring at 13:08 with a free-position goal, followed by Vang's unassisted tally at 8:56. After a yellow card on MSOE gave Stout a player advantage, Vang converted another free-position shot at 5:13 to make it 3-0. MSOE's Jenna Kent got the Raiders on the board late in the period at 0:57, narrowing it to 3-1.
The Blue Devils extended their lead in the second quarter, outscoring MSOE 3-1 to head into halftime up 6-2. Schulte struck again early at 14:22 off a Palmer assist. Tonn capitalized with a player-up goal at 12:28 assisted by Vang. Busho added an unassisted score at 9:05 before MSOE's Vayda Flower answered late at 0:08.
The third quarter saw the teams trade blows, with each scoring four goals. Vang netted two quick strikes at 13:07 and 12:00 (the latter assisted by Tonn), sandwiching a player-up goal from MSOE's Chloe Ninmann at 12:36. Palmer responded at 8:12, but MSOE rattled off two more from Maggie Sanderson and Arial Lapsa. Vang scored her fifth at 5:32, and MSOE closed the quarter at 1:27, making it 10-6.
Stout pulled away for good in the fourth, scoring four goals to build a 14-7 lead. Schulte completed her hat trick at 12:29, followed by Vang's sixth of the game at 10:44. After Ninmann scored at 7:48,
Erin Nolan (7:09, assisted by Tonn) and Palmer (6:12, assisted by Busho) sealed the win.
Stout dominated draw controls 16-8 and Blue Devils were efficient on clears (19-of-19) and converted 2-of-2 free-position shots, while MSOE went 1-of-6.
Stout will be in action next weekend when they travel to Iowa for matchup with Mount Mercy University on March 6 followed by a game with Saint Ambrose on March 7.
