Silenzi Records Sixth Shutout as Blue Devils Draw Hamline

ST. PAUL — University of Wisconsin-Stout Polytechnic played Hamline to a 0-0 draw Wednesday at Paterson Field. Goalkeeper Kristen Silenzi recorded three saves to post her sixth shutout of the season as the Blue Devils moved to 4-5-4 on the season.

Stout put seven of its 10 shots on goal, with Tessa Pagel leading the Blue Devils with three shots, including two on frame. Tia Rubow added two shots, both on goal, while Kayla White finished with two shots and one shot on goal.

The Blue Devils created several scoring opportunities in the opening half. Pagel forced a save in the 20th minute, while Alli LaVick added a shot later in the half. White and Rubow each put shots on goal late in the half, but Hamline goalkeeper Sienna Parsons turned both away. UW-Stout entered halftime tied 0-0.

Pagel recorded Stout's first shot on goal of the second half, but Parsons made the save. The Blue Devils continued to pressure the Hamline defense, with Mckenna Long putting a shot on frame in the 74th minute that was stopped.

Silenzi kept the game scoreless with second-half saves on Ellie Nhean and Danna Garcia. The Blue Devils continued to push offensively in the closing minutes, with Pagel, Rubow and Sami Moseng each recording shots. Moseng's attempt was on target, but Parsons made the save to preserve the scoreless draw.

The Blue Devils return home Saturday, Oct. 10, hosting UW-Oshkosh at 3 p.m. at Nelson Field.
