MENOMONIE (April 13, 2025) — The UW-Stout women's tennis team hosted a triangular Sunday at the South Tennis Courts, squaring off against UW-River Falls and No. 35 nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus. While the Blue Devils came up short on the team scoreboard in both matchups, the day featured standout performances and a Senior Day celebration honoring Ella Lamppa, Ellie Becker, and Lyndsey Krist.
Against UW-River Falls, Lindsay Leuzinger picked up Stout's lone win of the match in impressive fashion. The first-year player earned a straight-sets victory at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-4, showcasing poise and consistency in the win.
Later in the afternoon, Stout battled powerhouse Gustavus Adolphus. Despite the 7-0 team result, Aspen Johnson and Ella Lamppa stood out for the Blue Devils. Johnson pushed her opponent to a competitive 6-4 first set at No. 2 singles before falling in straight sets. Lamppa also put together a strong opening set at No. 3 singles, falling 6-4, 6-1, and giving one of her best performances of the spring season.
Between matches, UW-Stout recognized its senior trio—Ella Lamppa, Ellie Becker, and Lyndsey Krist—for their dedication, leadership, and impact on the program. Lamppa and Becker played top-line doubles together in both matches, continuing their long-standing partnership on Senior Day.
Up Next: The Blue Devils will be off for the holiday weekend, but will be back in action on April 26th, traveling to Eau Claire to play in a triangular against Milwaukee School of Engineering and UW-Superior.
