STEVENS POINT – The UW-Stout baseball team fell in both games of a doubleheader against UW-Stevens Point on April 13, 2025, at Zimmermann Field, with final scores of 7-5 and 7-3.
In the opener, Stout jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, capitalizing on an error and an RBI single from
AJ Kargel. The Pointers responded, tying the game in the fourth and taking the lead in the fifth. Despite a late rally with a
Justin Sedin sacrifice fly and an unearned run in the seventh, Stout couldn't overcome Stevens Point's three-run sixth inning.
Billy Jones led Stout with a 2-for-5 performance.
The second game saw Stevens Point (13-12, 8-6) build an early lead, scoring in five of the first six innings. Stout (9-15 7-7) managed three runs, highlighted by
Justin Sedin's solo home run in the sixth and an
Austin Miller double. Errors proved costly for the Blue Devils, who committed five miscues. Stout's
Justin Schnell contributed with a 1-for-4 effort, including an RBI and two stolen bases.
The Blue Devils will play a midweek non-conference doubleheader against Gustavus Adolphus College on Wednesday April 16 in St. Peter, Minn.
