MENOMONIE, Wis. – The UW-Stout women's basketball team made a powerful statement on Saturday afternoon, rolling past No. 22 UW-Whitewater with an emphatic 87-60 victory at Johnson Fieldhouse. The Blue Devils, who are receiving votes in the national rankings, earned a regular-season sweep over the Warhawks for the first time since 2006 and solidified their place near the top of the WIAC standings.
From the opening tip, Stout (17-4, 8-2 WIAC) asserted its dominance, jumping out to a 25-14 lead in the first quarter and never allowing Whitewater (15-6, 5-5 WIAC) to gain momentum. The Blue Devils were locked in offensively, shooting a scorching 64.6% from the field, including 52.6% from beyond the arc. Their defensive pressure was just as impressive, holding the Warhawks to 39% shooting while forcing 15 turnovers.

For the first time since Nov. 28, 2023, Stout had five players score in double figures, showcasing its depth and versatility.
- Lexi Wagner led the way with 17 points on an efficient 6-of-10 shooting, draining five three-pointers to keep Whitewater on its heels.
- Anna Mutch also finished with 17 points, adding five rebounds and a steal in a well-rounded performance.

Stout's offense was firing on all cylinders, with crisp ball movement leading to open looks. The Blue Devils recorded 17 assists on their 31 made field goals and dominated Whitewater's perimeter defense with 10 three-pointers.
Stifling Defense, Relentless Pressure

Whitewater's leading scorer, Kacie Carollo, was held to just 12 points on 5-of-19 shooting, including a tough 0-for-7 night from three-point range. Stout's perimeter defense was locked in, forcing the Warhawks into a season-low 14.3% shooting from beyond the arc (3-of-21).
In addition to their strong half-court defense, the Blue Devils capitalized on mistakes, scoring 21 points off turnovers. Their high-energy play also resulted in transition opportunities, leading to a 7-2 advantage in fast-break points.
