RIVER FALLS, Wis. (February 12, 2025) – The UW-Stout women's basketball team suffered a tough road loss Wednesday night, falling to UW-River Falls, 66-58, at Page Arena. Despite leading heading into the fourth quarter, the Blue Devils (17-6, 8-4 WIAC) couldn't hold off the Falcons' late-game rally.

UW-Stout started slow but found their rhythm in the second and third quarters, outscoring UW-River Falls 28-18 during that span. The Blue Devils held a 39-36 advantage heading into the final period. However, the Falcons exploded for 30 fourth-quarter points, fueled by clutch three-point shooting and strong free-throw performance, to take control of the game.
Anna Mutch led UW-Stout with 17 points, shooting 6-of-11 from the field, including two three-pointers. Raegan Sorensen added 16 points and six rebounds, while Amanda Giesen chipped in with eight points and seven boards-- now eclipsing 500 total rebounds in her Blue Devil career. Stout struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 21.1% (4-for-19) from three-point range.
For UW-River Falls, Zoey Buchan paced the Falcons with a game-high 19 points, hitting five three-pointers. Olivia Hoerl and Karleigh Creasey each contributed 10 points. The Falcons capitalized on free throws, making 22-of-28 (78.6%) attempts, compared to Stout's 16-of-21 (76.2%).
