PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (February 15, 2025) – The UW-Stout men's basketball team faced a tough road test against No. 3 UW-Platteville, falling 76-58 at Bo Ryan Court. The Blue Devils battled hard but were unable to overcome the Pioneers' strong defensive presence and efficient shooting.

The Blue Devils (8-15, 4-8 WIAC) started strong, keeping pace with the highly-ranked Pioneers in the opening minutes. Mason Stoik provided an early offensive spark, driving inside and knocking down free throws to keep Stout in the game. However, Platteville's defense clamped down as the half wore on, forcing turnovers and capitalizing on second-chance opportunities. By halftime, the Pioneers held a 41-30 lead.
In the second half, UW-Stout continued to fight, with Collin Vick controlling the boards. The Blue Devils managed to cut into the deficit briefly, but the Pioneers' balanced scoring attack proved too much to overcome. UW-Platteville dominated in transition and outscored Stout 38-24 in the paint.
Logan Pearson led UW-Platteville with 16 points, while Joey Fuhremann and Miles Hettinger each contributed 14. The Blue Devils struggled to find rhythm from beyond the arc, shooting just 18.5% from three-point range.
