DULUTH, Minn. (October 7, 2025) — The UW-Stout volleyball team battled in three tight sets but came up short on the road Tuesday night, falling 3-0 (28-26, 25-21, 25-22) to St. Scholastica at Reif Gymnasium.
Brooke McCune led the Blue Devils (13-6, 0-3 WIAC) with 12 kills and 13 digs, posting a .273 hitting percentage.
Emma Barton was efficient at the net, tallying seven kills while hitting .545 and adding four block.
Kyra Giffen added eight kills and four total blocks. Setter
Lainey Todd dished out 18 assists and notched three service aces, while libero
Kailey Kline paced the back row with 15 digs.
Stout opened strong in the first set, leading much of the way before the Saints (11-7, 3-1 MIAC) rallied to steal a 28-26 win. St. Scholastica carried that momentum into the second and third sets, edging Stout 25-21 and 25-22 to complete the sweep.
Lindsey Baribeau powered the Saints with 18 kills on .429 hitting and added four blocks. Setter Natalie Yackley distributed 37 assists, while libero Lauren Kahl collected 14 digs.
As a team, UW-Stout hit .150 with 32 kills and seven team blocks, while St. Scholastica posted a .151 attack percentage with 41 kills.
The Blue Devils return home on Wednesday, October 15 tp resume WIAC play, hosting UW-Stevens Point, at Johnson Fieldhouse.
