EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Stout Blue Devils opened their Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) schedule Saturday night, falling 3-0 to UW-Eau Claire at Simpson Field.
UW-Eau Claire (6-2-2, 1-0-0 WIAC) was able to get on the board early in the match when Tate McDermott netted the decisive goal at the 5:31 mark.

Eddie Puglisi made 12 saves in the contest to give Stout a chance to equalize. UW-Eau Claire finished the night with a 25-3 advantage in total shots, with 15 shots landing on target.
The loss moves UW-Stout's season record to 1-8-3 and 0-1-0 in the WIAC.
