MENOMONIE, Wis. — On a cold, rainy night at Stout, the Blue Devils men's soccer team closed out its regular season with a 1-1 draw against UW-River Falls.
The Blue Devils struck just before halftime when sophomore Isak Rollins found the back of the net in the 45th minute, recording his first collegiate goal. Rollins' finish came off a free kick from Marwan Kaddah, giving Stout a 1-0 lead heading into the break.
River Falls evened the match in the 70th minute on a goal from Josh Villanueva, assisted by Victor Vancauteren, and the score held despite several late pushes from both sides.
Goalkeeper Max Kutz anchored Stout's defense with three saves, while the Blue Devils matched the Falcons shot-for-shot in a gritty, physical contest played in front of an engaged home crowd.
With the result, UW-Stout enters the WIAC Tournament as the No. 6 seed and will travel to UW-Stevens Point to take on the No. 3-seeded Pointers on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the quarterfinal round.
