WHITEWATER, Wis. — Emma Balsley scored her second goal of the season for the University of Wisconsin-Stout, but the Blue Devils came up short in a 3–1 loss to UW-Whitewater on Saturday afternoon at Robert W. Fiskum Field.
The Warhawks jumped out to an early lead when Summer Curtis found the back of the net in the eighth minute off assists from Anna Gunderson and Berkley Dylla. Whitewater added another just before halftime on a penalty kick by Jenna Laidlaw to take a 2–0 advantage into the break.
Curtis struck again in the 65th minute, extending the Warhawks' lead to 3–0 before Balsley answered in the 83rd minute, capitalizing on a loose ball to put Stout on the board.
Anna Odisho led the Blue Devils with three shots, including two on target, while Balsley and Berklee Reelfs each added one shot on goal. Kaitlyn Krengel made three saves in net for Stout.
UW-Stout (7–8–3, 1–3–2 WIAC) will wrap up the non-conference play on Tuesday with a 3:30 p.m. match at the College of St. Scholastica.
