MENOMONIE, Wis. (October 25, 2025) – The UW-Stout Blue Devils (5-2, 3-1 WIAC) gave the Homecoming crowd plenty to cheer about Saturday, rolling to a 42-22 win over UW-Stevens Point (3-4, 0-4 WIAC) at Don & Nona Williams Stadium.
Stout's defense set the tone early when
Dawson Goodman jumped a route and returned an interception 31 yards for a touchdown just over four minutes into the game. Goodman finished with a team-high 12 tackles to go with his pick-six.
Stout's defense was disruptive throughout, recording five sacks and eight tackles for loss while holding UWSP to just 154 passing yards.
The Blue Devils controlled the line of scrimmage all afternoon, piling up 213 rushing yards and four scores on the ground. Senior quarterback

Chandler Ross each punched in two touchdowns. Ross totaled 86 yards on just eight carries, while Moen added 106 yards on 19 attempts.
Moen was efficient through the air as well, completing 16-of-23 passes for 155 yards, including a 39-yard touchdown strike to
Avron Carter midway through the second quarter. Carter hauled in eight receptions for 88 yards.
Stout scored touchdowns on four of its first five full drives, building a 28-10 halftime lead and extending the margin to 35-10 early in the third. Stevens Point managed a pair of second-half touchdowns, but the Blue Devils answered with a late scoring march to put the game away.
After Goodman's early touchdown, the Pointers drove 59 yards on eight plays but settled for a 30-yard field goal to make it 7-3. Ross then powered a quick response on the next drive, breaking free down the sideline for 52 yards before punching it in from the 2-yard line. He added an 11-yard touchdown run on Stout's next possession to stretch the lead to 21-3.
Following a defensive stop, Moen connected with Carter on a 39-yard touchdown to cap a seven-play, 71-yard drive for a 28-3 advantage.
Moen opened the second half with a 3-yard keeper to push the lead to 35-10, then sealed the victory with another rushing score from four yards out in the final minutes.
With the win, the Blue Devils sit in a four-way tie atop the WIAC standings.
UW-Stout hits the road next weekend, traveling to La Crosse for a key conference matchup against UW-La Crosse on Saturday, November 1, at 1 p.m.
