MENOMONIE (October 18, 2025) – The UW-Stout women's soccer team fell behind early and was unable to recover against (RV) UW-La Crosse, dropping a 4-0 decision Saturday afternoon at Nelson Field.
The Eagles (14-2, 4-0 WIAC) scored all four of their goals in the opening 25 minutes. Aubree Caya opened the scoring just 1:58 into the match off an assist from Sera Speltz. Speltz doubled the lead in the sixth minute, converting on a feed from Katelyn Studebaker. La Crosse's offensive surge continued as Jillian Sawadski found the back of the net in the 21st minute, assisted by Caya, before Caya struck again just four minutes later to make it 4-0.
After the break, the Blue Devils (7-6-3, 1-1-2 WIAC) settled in defensively, limiting the Eagles to just six shots in the second half while creating a few scoring chances of their own. Claire Olson made one save in the second half for Stout, while Kaitlyn Krengel stopped four shots in the first 45 minutes.
Offensively, Stout was led by Calli Heinzerling and Anna Odisho, who each registered two shots on goal.
The Blue Devils will continue WIAC play when they host UW-River Falls on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.
