MENOMONIE, Wis. – The UW-Stout women's soccer team turned in a dominant performance Wednesday afternoon at Nelson Field, defeating Buena Vista University, 4-0.
The Blue Devils (6-4-1) wasted little time getting on the board as Alli LaVick scored in the sixth minute off an assist from Tessa Pagel. After carrying a 1-0 lead into halftime, Stout erupted for three goals in the second half. Emma Balsley doubled the advantage in the 56th minute before Berklee Reelfs finished a setup from Lizzy Dallas and Bella Mickey in the 63rd. Lindsey Redepenning capped the scoring in the 73rd minute with help from Ava Tomas.
Stout outshot the Beavers 30-0, putting 16 shots on frame and piling up 10 corner kicks. Goalkeepers Kaitlyn Krengel and Claire Olson split time in net and combined for the shutout without facing a shot.
With the victory, the Blue Devils improved to 6-4-1 overall, while Buena Vista dropped to 3-6-1.
