Blue Devils Dominate Northland in Shutout Victory

ASHLAND, Wis. – Jan. 30, 2025 – The UW-Stout Blue Devils put on an offensive clinic in a commanding 8-0 victory over Northland College on Thursday night. The Blue Devils controlled the game from the opening faceoff, scoring early and often while holding the Lumberjacks scoreless.

Offensive Explosion
UW-Stout wasted no time getting on the board, as Jake McAlpine found the back of the net just 25 seconds into the game. Nicolas Pigeon followed up with two first-period goals, including a power-play tally in the final second of the period, to give Stout a 3-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

The Blue Devils continued their dominance in the second period. Adrian Stasiniak netted a short-handed goal, Maksis Brimanis struck for his first of the night, and Gunner Moore capitalized on the power play, pushing the lead to 6-0 after two periods.

In the third, Nicholas Stevens and Tristan Therrien each added goals to cap off the rout.

Defensive Brilliance
Goaltender Ryan Knight was flawless between the pipes, turning away all 27 shots he faced to secure the shutout. Knight has allowed just one goal in his last three starts, registering 180 straight scoreless regulation minutes. The Blue Devils' defense was relentless, limiting Northland's offensive chances and keeping them off the scoreboard.
