Â
After a chippy end to the first game of the series last night, it did not take long for tempers to flare in the series finale. The first period alone saw five penalties between the two teams, though neither side could create any real scoring opportunities- a trend that continued from last night.
Play sped up as the game progressed, with both teams beginning to find their stride and create more offensive chances. It was the Blue Devils that were able to get the better of the chances most of the game, with 41 shots on goal, and several shots that hit the post, including a golden opportunity in overtime on a shot from
Nicolas Pigeon that beat the goaltender, but rang off the post and wide. Â
Ryan Knight extended his shutout streak to 123 minutes, dating back to his shutout win over Gustavus, until the Pointers were finally able to put one past him in overtime, securing a WIAC victory.
