Record:Â Blue Devils (13-3, 4-1), Pointers (13-3, 3-2)
Location:Â Johnson Fieldhouse- Menomonie, Wis.
Raegan Sorensen's twenty-seven-point game led the Blue Devils to a ten-point victory over the Pointers. This was a season-high for Sorensen, and enough to move her into 3
rd on the Blue Devils all-time scoring list, surpassing Kelsey Duoss.
Â
It was not all smooth-sailing for the Blue Devils this afternoon, as UW-Stevens Point raced out to a 13-2 lead early in the first quarter, thanks to three consecutive made threes to start the contest. Stout spent the majority of the first half chipping away at the Pointer lead and were able to finally grab a 28-27 lead with just one second left in the half, courtesy of two free-throws from Sorensen.
Â
UW-Stout was able to dictate play in the second half and extend their lead, in large part because of the sharpshooting from
Lexi Wagner and
Mary Berg. Wagner and Berg each shot 4/6 from beyond the arc, critical in fending off a hot UWSP team. The Blue Devils pulled away in the final minutes of the contest, salting the game away at the free-throw line, resulting in the Blue Devils 4
th win in a row.
