It didn't take long for the Blue Devils to get on the scoreboard. Only 30 seconds into the game,
Nicolas Pigeon scored his ninth goal of the season with assists from
Boyd Stahlbaum and
Tristan Therrien.Â
At 11:37 in the first period, Stout's
Caleb Serre scored his first goal of the season to make the game 2-0. The Serre goal was assisted by
Adrian Stasiniak and
Zach Laurila.Â
But the Cobbers wouldn't back down as Matthew Hard scored an unassisted goal to get within one goal at 12:15 of the period.Â
Stout's third goal was at 13:17 of the period when
Maksis Brimanis beat Champlain to make it a two goal game. The Brimanis goal was assisted by
Felix Cadieux-Fredette and
Gunner Moore to have the Blue Devils lead 3-1.Â
At 14:02 of the first period, the game saw its fifth goal when Cobber's Jack Hanson scored the goal with assists from Tucker Skime and Hunter Bjorge.Â
With time running down in the first period, Stout's
Nicolas Pigeon scored his second goal of the night, his tenth of the season with an assist from
Noe Perez to make the game 4-2.Â
Concordia would go on a power play chance with 1:04 left in the period and would start on the power play for 56 seconds to start the second period, but Stout would kill off the penalty.Â
The Cobbers scored their third goal of the night at 11:09 of the second period when Tucker Skime beat Masternak to get within one goal with an assist from Bjorge.
At 16:58 of the second period, the Blue Devils went on the power play. Stout's
Noe Perez shot the puck from the point and scored his second goal of the season. Pigeon and Moore had the assists on the power play goal to make the game 5-3 going into the second intermission.Â
In the third period, Stout's
Zach Laurila scored his first goal of his Blue Devil career at 6:09 of the period. The goal was assisted by
Tyler Pfister and
Evan Vanden Heuvel.Â
Stout had two power play opportunities and the Cobbers had one in the third period, but all penalties were killed off and the final score read 6-3.Â
Tyler Masternak started for the Blue Devils as he stopped 27 of the Cobbers shots. Philippe De Champlain started for Concordia, stopping 35 of the Blue Devil shots.Â
